SeaSalt — Restaurant in Jacó

Sea Salt Restaurant was the perfect lunch break spot during our beach day in Jacó! It’s super easy to access right off the beach, which made it so convenient to grab some great food and drinks without missing out on the ocean vibe.

We started with smoothies and margaritas — both were refreshing and hit the spot. The ceviche and tuna tartare were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. We also tried the tacos and the Sea Salt Sandwich — everything was delicious, with generous portions.

Service: on what it seemed an empty night, I had to find our own hostess to get a group table. Upon ordering drinks, waiting staff disappeared for a while. On top of empty water glasses and drinks, our food didn’t arrive until about 1.15 hours later, making from sitting down to getting our food 2 hours or so again, empty night with 2-3 tables. Food: around 7-8 meals were ordered, food wasn’t terrible but it does NOT justify the price. Atmosphere: I think during the day it would be better(?) with slight ocean view. We were surprised by the rave reviews for Sea Salt Restaurant because our experience was mediocre at best. While the beachfront location and views are undoubtedly beautiful, the rest of the experience didn’t live up to the hype.

The food was average, and the mixed drinks tasted watered down—not what you’d expect for a $140 meal for two. Compared to other amazing restaurants we’ve tried in Costa Rica, this was by far the most disappointing and overpriced.
