I will preface this review by mentioning that I did not go to Naturehouse to rent a room, but rather to grab a bite and a few drinks with a tourist that I meant at a park nearby. I did get to see the room that this new friend rented.
That being said, this place is on my bucket list for my next visit to Costa Rica. Perched in the mountains a few minutes away from “downtown” Monteverde, Naturehouse is a very charming and quiet hotel with breathtaking views of the jungle where you will see monkeys, toucans, coatis and other critters.
What makes this place standout is Roy, the owner running the hotel and restaurant with his wife and daughter. Not only does me make the BEST wood fire pizzas, he is also an incredible host. He gave me countless suggestions on things to do in the area, all of which were more than worth it, and also hooked me up for a night walk tour that I couldn’t book for the life of me due to all of them being fully booked for the next weeks.
All in all, do yourself a favour and book a small cabin at Naturehouse if you plan on visiting Monteverde. You will be...
Read moreWe had a great time staying in Nature House, rent is really resonable and the room is clean. If you spend most of your time in outdoor activities this is the perfect place to stay, resturants and shops are not far. Property has enough parking. ||Roy is an excellent host, made sure we were looked after and he recommended resturants that were really good and resonable, in fact he dropped us after we made our decision.||Breakfast is good, I really liked the fresh juice Roy makes every morning and tea and coffee any time you want. If you don't feel like going out, order a pizza you will not be disappointed its really good.||Roy takes you to a place where you can climb a hallow tree to watch sun set.||Roy recommended a gift shop in the town and we were amazed by the quality of the products and prices that is unbeatable.||Nature House has not many rooms so if you are travelling in a group of six or eight get all the rooms and have fun, it has a common seating area.||You can book all the activities through Roy, he knows the best and goes extra mile...
Read moreDespite the rainy weather staying here was one of the highlights of our Costa Rica trip. We had a double room with shared bathroom which was never a problem even when others were staying. Bed was made every day with fresh towel and soap etc. Beautiful, quiet location walking distance into town for great local meals, if you didnt mind a hill on the way home, amazing food on request from a very obliging host. Roy couldn't do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble from laundry, to cooking, to organising a bus to get to the reserve, you only had to ask. We were starting each day early (birding) and he even made sure we had breakfast before going. The kitchen was also available to make lunch or cook your own dinner. Also, just a great person to have a chat to and so helpful with information about the area but also other places in CR. Would happily have stayed here longer and definitely...
