My husband and I were staying in Monteverde for a few days and we fell in love with this place the first night we tried it out, it became our go to for dinner! A huge shoutout to the AMAZING staff. Our servers Sharon, Geiner and another wonderful fellow on our first day. They were all so kind and pleasant to chat with! I loved having some life chats with Sharon, she's a full of enthusiasm and generosity. Some of the kitchen staff, Joel and Mary, always made delicious food, truly outstanding! The service, food and atmosphere is what kept us coming back. Some of our menu highlights are: the hot chocolate, they use chocolate that is made by the locals, it's so rich and decadent, I wish we had more hot chocolate like this back in Canada! The spaghetti rose: I know it's part of the kids menu but the flavours were delicious and full bodied. The vegan burger: full of flavour and it felt so good eating it because it is made of lentils and beet root as opposed to having processed meat. You honestly can't go wrong with the menu items. The Aztec and Orange soup, the eggs benedict are other honourable mentions. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff for an amazing experience!! 🙏 I look forward to coming back to this restaurant the next time we come back to...
Read moreAn unexpected find. Fresh tasty informal electric cuisine: a fusion of middle eastern, Greek, Central American, Asian, in the middle of Monteverde Costa Rica. We ate there twice, that says something because there are lots of options.
People raved about the shakshuka, smoothies and the various sandwiches. Breakfast and everything else is served all day by the young energetic staff who seem to be having a great time alternating between the open kitchen and serving customers.
First, we had the best cup of coffee so far in a country with great coffee. My wife’s latte was also right up there.
On our two visits we tried the souvlaki, the schnitzel sandwich, numerous smoothies, the Acari bowl. All really good, everything fresh tasting and the coffees. The aromas from the surrounding tables, indicated to us that you probably can’t miss.
Another point, everything really is fresh. You can tell not only by taste and small. When I went for a late lunch, they were out of some fresh fruits and lunch items. To me, that’s a good sign, nothing old or frozen.
I’d rate the service stronger on spirit than attentiveness, but the friendly atmosphere is contagious.
The prices are great for the quality. Looking around town you can pay a lot...
Read moreWe wanted to stop off for a beer at the beer garden below. The Open Kitchen staff told us as we were entering that it wasn't opening due to a flooding/drain issue so we were kindly guided to The Open Kitchen terrace to have a beer there instead. We chose to sit on a long table/bench slightly away from the edge because we were getting wet from the drizzle in the air if we sat on the stools at the end (and we're told to sit where we wanted by the same member of staff who guided us there). She took our beer order and another member of staff brought them to us and told us that we would probably have to move because we were on a table for large groups. That didn't make us feel welcome at all, especially as there were numerous large tables the same size inside that were completely empty and were still empty when we left. As we have moved to Monteverde for a few months they could have had regular custom from us as the menu looked different compared to the other places we've been to, but being made to feel unwelcome straight away means we won't be setting foot in there again. Good job member of staff 👍 The 3 is for the kind member of staff, shame about the other one we...
