What’s good staff wifi Breakfast Soft towels Shower gel provided kitchen on second floor w/fridge and microwave new-ness
Room - mixed/shared (4); also, single Decent amount of space Comfy bed and pillow Ample electrical outlets Nice sized in room secure storage + safe box
Shared bathroom It's new and nice. Should have been designed to have the shower and the toilet separate so that if someone has to go to the bathroom they don't have to wait for the person using the shower to finish showering to get to the toilet.
Location Close to the ferry Close to the bus Close to a grocery store Close to a bus stop; if you're ambitious, you could walk in one direction to Old Town, but you will probably want to return to the hostel via bus (or vice versa) Close to restaurants Close to some souvenir shops
Improvement Key card works in an awkward manner in regards to lights and air con. The set up with the gourmet store on the ground level is awkward. One morning as I was trying to leave the area was blocked by a delivery truck with absolutely no way to get around it unless they moved it, which they did.
Suggestions Need a rooftop terrace so guests can hang out Need a happy hour for guests Need more opps for guests to socialize Need hairdryer in the bathroom Need a small shelf in the shower Get some ‘introduction’ cards so guests can share info

Read moreThe receptionists are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast spread are good. The hostel room were nice and comfortable except for the air conditioning blowing onto one side of the bed which wasn't nice if you have two people on the bed. I even turned the vent upwards but then it blew toward the ceiling and downward so it doesn't help. The room has two wardrobes even two safe, which I find is a waste of resource. I think they can take away one safe. The car park at the basement is like a war zone, very dirty, never clean up after construction and the ramp to drive down is very tight too. The car parks is limited and the space are tight so if someone doesn't park properly, there is one less parking space. The chambermaid came to clean our room, she doesn't even bother to tub our bedding properly. Maybe this is hostel standard? Since Croatia doesn't get much of rain. May I suggest to leave a note for the guest regarding towel. Tell the guests for the sake of saving water, electricity and doing good for the environment, please hang the towel if you do not want it wash, leave it on the floor if they...
Read moreHonestly, nothing bad to say about this place! There’s plenty of parking, which is always a huge plus, and the rooms were clean, modern, and smelled fresh. The beds were comfortable, and the showers were great—everything you’d want for a good stay.
The public spaces were also well-maintained, quiet, and really relaxing. There are plenty of books available, which is a nice touch if you’re looking for a laid-back spot to chill or even get some work done.
Check-in was smooth, and the receptionist (a man with a beard) spoke excellent English. The only odd thing was that they checked the documents of both guests staying in the room. I’m guessing this might be a local law, but it was unusual since I’ve never had that happen anywhere else.
The location is decent—there are lots of restaurants nearby, and the bus station is close, so getting around isn’t an issue. It’s a bit far from the Old Town, but the bus makes it manageable.
Overall, it felt more like a hotel than a hostel, and I really enjoyed my stay. If I ever need to spend another night in Dubrovnik, Hostel Sol would definitely be high on my...
