Villa Flores - Apartments, Dubrovnik — Hotel in Dubrovnik

This hotel is right in the heart of the city. Very nice place. We had an apartment on the third floor. Lots of steps. Mind you there are steps everywhere in Dubrovnik! Nice kitchen with a table and a couple of chairs. Living with a couch and a desk and tv. Two big windows one in the living room the other in the bed room. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom with a nice shower. There are bakeries and supermarkets close by. Quite quiet at night even slept with the window open. If you arrive with a car please be advised that the parking is extremely expensive and not close by. We parked our car at a shopping mall with public parking and took a cab in about 5 minutes away. So nice to be in the old town and close to everything. The beach is about a ten minute walk. The beach is fantastic. The water so clear! Dubrovnik is really a magical place to visit. The location of the hotel is excellent right in the old town. Everything is within walking distance. The rooms are very clean and modern. Bathrooms clean which is very important for us. The hotel arranged a taxi pickup for us from the airport. No taxis or private transport are allowed in the old town area which is where the hotel is located but its about 5-10 minute walk from the place where the taxis drop you. ||Few negatives though. There are quite a few steep steps to climb to reach the hotel something you may wish to consider if you have problem in climbing steps. The hotel though excellent in all respect has got another small drawback. we were staying on the first floor but could hear people walking upstairs which was bit disturbing. We checked in late on evening to the Luxury Apartment and saw that the one shower was covered with insects. The next day the owner who was absolutely fantastic apologises and explained that it was a 300 year old property with 300 year old sewage which caused the problem. That in my opinion is not good enough. She then assured me the problem had been fixed and left us a bottle of wine. On the second night we returned to the property to discover both showers and the staircase covered in these insects. Angry, I immediately got on the the owner and told her we were going to move to the Hilton the next day and again, she was apologetic and agreed to refund us for our stay which she did. I don’t believe a property with this issue should be rented out to the public and would ask for some sort of guarantee that it does not recur before...
