We decided to stay at Apartment Volat as we were staying for 2 nights in Split before heading to the Islands for the week. When we arrived we were greeted by Zeljan who was already waiting for us & shown around the appt. It had good wifi access & cable tv which was great if you wanted to escape the August 38degree heat. Volat is situated in one of splts narrow side streets so traffic noise isn't an issue. It's also conveniently close to the palace walls that contain many restaurants, bars & markets. Theres a small supermarket & bakery just meters from the door to stock up on essentials & if you like Cheese then try Paradox on the corner which is a recently opened bar that matches extensive Cheese & wines from all over Europe as well as Croatian specialities. One thing we found quite funny was above our entrance carved into the stone was the name of Bernard Vukas who in 2000 was voted the best Croatian footballer of all time so plenty of passers by were taking pictures & having a good look.
