We were so looking forward to visiting Luka after recommendations and reading reviews. Not pleased at all.
Ice cream was average and had better at other places the last 2 days.
Staff were incredibly rude. The only cones on show were the large plain cones so we pointed at them when asking. Only realised the girl serving us had picked up the chocolate cone after the first scoop. When we said it was the other cone she glared at us, said something to the other girl working and said "that's not a cone it's a conita" or something along those lines. We said we had asked for the other cone and after a bit of back and forth she changed it. There was no sign anywhere showing the different options for cones.
We assumed the sticker on the window showing all major debit/credit cards accepted meant we could pay with card... apparently not. We were refused card payment and had to go to a machine across the way. Why have a sign in the window saying card payment when you don't accept cards?
We were also not given the correct change from a 100 kuna note
Really disappointing experience after hearing such good things....
Read moreWARNING: My croissant had hair on it and the waiter just returned it to the platter to sell once again after I told him!
Longer explanation: Went there before I saw all the recent reviews of ownership change and that it's not the same quality as before. We sat down, tried the pistachio paris brest - it was dry and the cream inside only has a hint of pistachios.
Croissant on the other hand, had tiny hairs barely visible to the eye, but the sun made me catch one and on closer inspection there was more (I counted 4). I pulled the biggest one out on the dark napkin (so I can show it to the waiter and kindly let him know) he acted surprised, didn't even look at it tbh and sourly apologized, offered another for exchange and put the one I brought in back on the platter...he acted as if I made it up and didn't care at all.
Good thing I took a picture because I felt a bit gaslighted by his reactions, even though I doubled down and said "it happens" because I wasn't there to be dramatic, but to let him know. I'm sad I didn't tear the croissant apart so he couldn't sell it, absolutely disgraceful and...
Read moreWhat a great find in the beautiful city here. So many options around for sweet treats. I stopped a tour Guide and asked his professional local opinion and he mentioned this place. I love any spot a little further away from the action, I feel more authentic than touristy. I promised the lovely female employee who helped us, that I'd remember her name. I did for a bit. Now back in the USA, I failed her, my apologies. Just know she was sweeter than the treats we got. Beyond helpful, allowed us to sample, had some chit chat and laughs. Hopefully she remembers my wife and I. The flavors are unique, they're vegan as well which should make a lot of people happy. We had lavender and a special orange flavor. Definitely special to them and I loved it. Sue also got two and loved those also. Time was short otherwise I would have had more visits. Thanks again....
