We went here because I wanted an amazing Greek salad before we left Croatia. I asked for grilled chicken on it; the waiter looked at me as if I had two heads. The salad on the menu says nothing about lettuce, or balsamic on it. Honestly one of the worst Greek salads I’ve had in my life, if you can call what I’ve eaten a Greek salad. It doesn’t deserve that privilege. Chicken was disrespectfully dry and had no flavor. The balsamic took over the dish entirely. Feta was fine, the peppers were bland, the lettuce had no business being there. I actually don’t write reviews and don’t want to disparage a business, but was so horrendous that I had to write a review. I need to stop other people from making this mistake and eat here while in Split. I could have bought a better salad at the Whole Foods by my work and been happier. The chicken from cava has more flavor and I didn’t have to fly almost 5000 miles to get it. Ps my friend got the chard and it was the worst of her life. Octopus/ squid was good. Pizza was okay but sauce was watery.

The price is reasonable comparing to others albeit everything in Croatia seems expensive. The grilled sea bass is very fresh, more tender than grilled sea bream. The pizza portion is very big and even my husband can’t finish. It’s good value for pizza but seafood is pricy. However toppings for both pizzas are very salty and we need a few cups of water to wash down. The service by the waitress is fine. But we were initially greeted by a young male waiter. He took away the glass left from the previous customer. I asked him if he can wipe the table for us as there was some liquid. He didn’t acknowledge and didn’t return to serve our table. The restaurant seemed quite busy, probably because of the reasonable prices I guess. I’m glad I visited but would prefer to try something different next time.

I arrived with two other friends. The waiter said they couldn't eat their snacks from anywhere else. My friends saved theirs to order something else from the menu. I had already placed my order with another server. Then another waiter arrived and started yelling at me. And cursing at me in Croatian. (And I understand Croatian very well.) I don't recommend this establishment to anyone. I'm five months pregnant and have a high-risk pregnancy. I left very upset after the waiter's yelling and cursing. The first guy who served me was very polite. The others weren't. Why would he yell at a pregnant woman? I wish he would do that to a man.

Avoid this restaurant at all costs.

Summary: Food was disgusting, head waiter was unprofessional and insulted me.

The food was absolute disgusting. The waitress was nice about it, but that was it.

Squid risotto was a black soup that was extremely salty, I literally couldn’t eat it. My friend ordered a pizza that had too much cheese on it and was also too salty. If you can’t make a proper pizza, I really question your abilities as a chef.

I didn’t order anything else after sending my food back after 1 bite, but we got charged the full amount + my friend got charged the wrong dish that was more expensive. I called the head waiter to correct the bill in a polite way, but he started arguing with me that you pay for what you order. It had to come to a full argument that had the heads of everyone there turned before he was willing to take the bill to his boss. Insulted me, telling me I don’t know what “real Croatian food” tastes like (my friend is from there and she thought it was the worst risotto she ever ate) Came back with a correct bill, not charging the salty garbage they served me.

Then he went around to ask everyone in the restaurant if they thought the food was too salty, which is the most unprofessional thing I have ever experienced.

He also started gossiping and badmouthing me to my friend, who speaks Croatian, that I was an uncultured tourist who didn’t know how the food was supposed to taste.

Mind you we were willing to pay everything else and were very polite about it, unti the arrogant head waiter showed up and started arguing with me.

Since the owner responds to this in May 2023 tries to accuse me of ruining their reputation, this review is from...
