Flamingo — Hotel in Grad Split

Very new hostel, brand new bed and furniture with newly painted walls and tiled bathroom. As mentioned by others, this is not a regular hostel with a reception etc., it's a single room of 8 beds with its own entrance, small kitchen, and bathroom (1 room with a toilet, the other with a toilet and shower).

It's a spacious studio apartment and would be a great atmosphere with some like-minded people. The bathrooms are very very nice and having a fridge and dining table is really handy.

It's about 5mins walk to the beach and around the same time to get to the south east corner of Diocletian's palace.

The only two things I could fault were the check-in process - we arrived and no-one was there, no information available how to get inside - I had to look up the reservation and call the number (luckily I had an EU simcard, otherwise it would have been a big problem)

Secondly, the front entrance faces a relatively busy road on the ground floor so the traffic can be a little noisy, but it didn't disturb our sleep so it wasn't...

Io davvero non mi spiego le recensioni positive per questo posto che definire "ostello" mi sembra quantomeno azzardato. Piuttosto lo definirei "bunker" o "cella", anche se sinceramente penso che i carcerati stiano meglio degli avventori che giungono qui. L'ostello, che ostello non è, era probabilmente un edificio adibito ad attività commerciale perché si tratta di una singola e unica stanza così composta: ingresso, scale, subito sulla destra due lavandini con specchio, appena più avanti una stanzetta con wc e doccia, di seguito un'altra stanzetta con solo wc, poi incastonata in qualche maniera troviamo la "cucina", ovvero un mobiletto basso con sopra un fuoco; sulla sinistra il tavolo da pranzo. La zona giorno (se così la vogliamo chiamare) è separata dalla stanza da letto da una tenda. Wow che bello, che soluzione innovativa!, direte voi. Già, peccato ci sia un grosso problema: il condizionatore si trova sopra al tavolo da pranzo e nel momento in cui la tenda viene chiusa per separare i due ambienti i poveri diavoli che dormono nei letti a castello si troveranno senza aria e senza un minimo di fresco, perché cari amici udite udite!, questa unica stanza ex edificio commerciale NON possiede nemmeno una finestra. Quella che presumibilmente era la porta di ingresso è fine a se stessa, non può essere aperta né socchiusa in nessun modo e oltretutto dà su una delle vie più trafficate di Spalato quindi riuscire a dormire sarà una vera impresa, anche con i tappi per le orecchie (che io mi porto sempre e che ho usato anche qui). Capitolo letti: si tratta di 4 strutture a castello, per un totale di 8 letti, ma sono poco solidi e cigolano e ballano ad ogni movimento. Una delle due cose utili che ho trovato è che ogni letto ha un suo cassettone con chiave in cui poter riporre gli effetti personali; d'altronde è l'unico posto in cui poter riporre qualcosa perché non ci sono ripiani né armadietti da nessuna parte e l'unica alternativa al cassettone è tenersi tutto sul letto. La seconda cosa utile è il self check-in: il giorno prima dell'arrivo viene comunicato su WhatsApp il codice apriporta e il numero del letto, così puoi arrivare anche in tarda serata e fare tutto da solo; d'altro canto non avere qualcuno presente fisicamente a cui rivolgersi in caso di dubbi o problemi non è il massimo. Hostel Flamingo is not like a normal hostel. It is a apartment with 8 beds, kitchen and dining space and two toilets, one with a shower.||||It is extremely clean and well kept having only been opened a couple of months ago (June 2017). The owner, Petra, was always on hand to give advice about the area and Split. She was also very accommodating with any special requests I had.||||I was travelling with a friend and we got on well with all the other guests, spending the early part of the evening eating and drinking in the Hostel before heading out.||||It is roughly 5 minutes walk from old town Split and 5 minutes from one of the more popular beaches.||||All in all, a really good place for young...
