We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would gladly return.
Room: Our room was clean, spacious, and offered a stunning sea view. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and all the amenities we needed were provided. It was cleaned daily, with the added touch of a complimentary bottle of water each day. Bathrobes and slippers were also provided, adding an extra layer of comfort.
Hotel & Atmosphere: The hotel has a stylish design with plenty of natural light and a fresh, pleasant scent in all communal areas. There was no loud music anywhere, which made for a peaceful environment. While the hotel has been refurbished (in 2022, according to online sources), you can tell it’s not a brand-new build - it dates back to 1985 - but it has been well-maintained.
Guests: The overall atmosphere was calm and classy. Most guests were middle-aged couples from Europe.
Food: We were on a half board package (breakfast and dinner). Dinners were excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options and a constantly changing menu. Breakfasts were good, though we felt they could benefit from a bit more variety - smoked salmon, avocado, or fresh berries, for example. Water and drinks were only complimentary at breakfast. It’d be great if water were available during all meals, even if it’s included in the room price. Also, tea bags were free at breakfast but charged at €4.50 at the bar later in the day - if tea is going to be charged separately, offering loose leaf or premium varieties would better match the price.
Staff: The staff worked hard to keep all areas clean and welcoming. They were mostly friendly and helpful. However, we did occasionally witness staff raising their voices at each other during service (e.g., when collecting plates), which created unnecessary tension. These situations would be better handled away from guests.
Beach & Sea Access: The sea and beach access were absolutely fantastic - 10/10. The hotel has a private area with sunbeds elevated above the beach, offering more privacy and a peaceful atmosphere. Getting to the public beach required just a few steps, which was no problem at all. There were always plenty of sunbeds available, both in the sun and shade, and we easily found a spot that suited us each day.
Sports & Entertainment: Special thanks to Iryna, the fitness instructor, who ran fantastic classes including stretching, yoga, pilates, and aqua aerobics. Perfect for anyone wanting some gentle movement while on holiday. The entertainment was also well thought out - during our stay, there were two evenings with outdoor dinners by the pool featuring live music, a magician, and traditional Cypriot dances. All very tastefully done and highly enjoyable.
Reception: The reception staff were highly professional and helpful. Initially, we weren’t given the room we had booked, but the next morning they resolved the issue promptly and even offered a room upgrade. We were shown two options and allowed to choose the one we preferred.
Extra Services: A small but much appreciated feature was the computer and printer available for guests. Being able to print boarding passes without hassle added real convenience.
Overall, we had a lovely and relaxing stay. This hotel strikes a great balance between style, comfort, and quiet sophistication - highly...
Read moreMy partner and I recently stayed at the Grecian Sands Hotel for our first holiday together, and we are absolutely delighted with our choice. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional, with the manager going above and beyond to ensure we had a magical stay.
Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade to an executive studio room with a pool view. The room was immaculate and spacious, and we were greeted with a bottle of sparkling wine, which was a delightful touch—even for someone who doesn't usually drink wine, it was fantastic! We had a minibar in our room, offering a selection of drinks which you pay towards the end of your stay.
The hospitality at Grecian Sands Hotel was top-notch. Every member of the staff greetings us with a warm smile and friendly demeanor. Their dedication to making our stay enjoyable was evident in every interaction, whether we were entering or leaving the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel was consistently excellent, offering a variety of options to suit every palate. From cereal and continental breakfast items to pastries, cakes, fresh juices, and a selection of teas and coffees, there was always something new to try each day.
Cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, with our room being serviced daily without fail. Fresh towels, bottled water, and a general tidy-up were provided each day, which made our stay all the more comfortable.
The pool area was fantastic, with plenty of sun loungers available. The pool was initially cool, especially on windy days, but once we took the first dip, it was perfect. There was also a sandy area with loungers that offered a beautiful view of the sea. A short walk down some steps led us directly to the beach, which was simply stunning.
Meeting the manager, Avraam, in person was a highlight. He was incredibly gracious and welcoming, making our stay even more special.
An unexpected delight was the presence of a cute stray cat near the outside sofa loungers. It added a charming touch to our relaxation time, happily accepting a cuddle if we sat down.
For those needing transportation, the hotel is conveniently located near bus stops—just a short walk up a slight hill and across the road. There are also two small shops nearby for snacks, drinks, and other essentials. Additionally, the hotel shop offered a range of items, including clothes and jewellery.
If you're seeking a quiet, relaxing atmosphere away from the central hustle and bustle of Ayiaa Napa, the Grecian Sands Hotel is the perfect choice. It's easy to get to the main center by bus or taxi (about 10 euros for a taxi) whenever you want to explore the lively area filled with souvenir shops, cafes, restaurants, and clubs. While we didn’t indulge in the nightlife, we enjoyed the relaxed and peaceful ambiance of the hotel.
Overall, if you’re looking for a serene retreat in Ayia Napa with the option to easily access the vibrant city center, Grecian Sands Hotel is your best bet. We are so grateful to the hotel manager and all the staff for providing such a wonderful experience. I've been recommending this hotel to everyone since returning to the UK, and we can’t wait to visit again someday! Thank you again...
Read moreBed quality is very poor. Not a real bed. None of their rooms have 100% curtains and they are aware of that. When I asked for HK to help me fix the curtains or add another one, they advised me to sleep with a mask, and when I refused to agree to that solution they brought stickers to stick the curtain to the wall, so no view from that moment... HK does not clean the floors. This is a beach hotel. What does HK is to enter the room each day, separate the beds each day (even though the same people stay there...) and add some new towels, and mix all the shampoos instead of shower gel. Sandy floors and non floor cleaning... "amazing"
Breakfast is very poor, too. No gluten-free options, and if you have butter allergy the chef outside just says ", there is butter in the mushroom, in the pancakes too, in the potatoes, too...", not once he said, "shall I prepare something for you without butter?" Not Once! Once he even yelled at me why I ask if there is butter in the cooked halloumi when "it is only cheese", and the next plate, next to it is is fried potatoes but yet they have butter as per his explanation...
The only nice people there were the youngest little boy at FO, he is the only person who asked once "How are you, madam", the only one, can you imagine? Also, Christoforos in the la cart restaurant was the only one who cared for me having allergies and convinced one of the chefs to prepare the calamari on the grill with olive oil instead of butter! Bravo, Christofourous! The only one who came to think that the hotel can keep the lunch money of the customer for the hotel. Cosmos and George are also good waiters. But I saw one day, the manager yelling at Christofourous for making the calamari grilled and butter-free, instead of as they have them in the menu. I could not believe that in this hotel the managers are poor in qualifications, and the younger or lower positions have much more potential, which definitely would be destroyed when being poorly managed by poor management like that!
The evening dinner service: "it is 9.15 pm - we are closing, no food available anymore..." 9,15pm in Agia Napa - the touristic part of the island...
And the most disappointing of all is the extremely poor FO service from the FO Manager. The first time, I see someone so unethical being in this position. I said it to her eyes, and the only argument she had was "I am here 35 years", definitely one can find much better service from the young boys at the front office. Definitely, the night shift FO gentleman is much better than all that 35 years of poor hateful experience she has!
One can note that the location is cute, however, if all human touch and communication are so poor, who cares for...
