We booked a table at this restaurant for our last day here because we saw all these amazing reviews. My boyfriend and I were dressed nicely. I even put on a purple flower dress. When we got to the restaurant the waitress looks at me and says: “I have to ask my manager if you are allowed to eat here because you are wearing flip flops not sandals”. I look at her and says: “because I’m wearing flip flops?”. And she goes: “yes, we have a dress code”. And don’t get me wrong but for me it’s how you style your clothes and shoes. And I looked nice and put together. We ended up leaving the restaurant really insulted.
We are human beings and the behavior from the staff was really unlike everyone else on this island.
When we left I looked at the reservation email I got to see if it states some kind of dress code or specific type of shoe. But it does not. Neither on their website.
I can’t say anything about the food. But this experience made us both really angry and sad. To the restaurant:
First of all: if you have such strict dress code maybe you should let people know through your website or at least in the reservation confirmation email.
Second of all: it should be about the overall impression of how people look, not because of one specific item the quest is wearing.
And lastly: no one, and I mean no one, should ever be looked at like the waitress did at me and say that she has to speak to her manager because of my damn shoes. It’s a burger bar not the Grammys.
To everyone else: find somewhere...
Read moreBooked a table for 9:30 pm. We proceeded to wait for over half an hour because the table we had booked had not been free and were asked to stand at the bar area and seemed to be ignored by bar staff and even at one point being asked to move as we were in the way. We were eventually offered a complimentary signature cocktail. When we finally got our table we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and at which point a member of our party had already left due to the wait times. 2 of us ordered the cheese burger (one well done and one medium) and when they arrived I checked with the waiter who then checked with the kitchen which one was which and the wrong burger was given to each of us which wasn’t a huge deal as we were able to switch but still wasn’t nice when I bit into it and saw pink meat. At the end of the meal after paying we were kindly given sorbet free of charge but still not the service I would have expected considering the reviews on here and also the fact that it is a part of a...
Read moreThe Roof Burger Bar is a high end restaurant serving... well, burgers 😀 Their location is on the roof of the Grecian Sands hotel, so very close to the center of Ayia Napa. The burgers are served with chips, and coleslaw and they are all very good with high quality ingredients. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, and everything seems to be well thought regarding decoration and utensils. It's one of the best burgers I had in Cyprus and elsewhere (I tried the blue cheese burger but I am sure they are all great). The service is what you would expect from a high end restaurant: quite professional. Lastly, the view is great too. On the 6th floor of the building, it overlooks the East side of Ayia Napa harbor. Aim for one of the window tables if available to enjoy the most of it. Their menu and prices are available on their website. They are expensive for sure but it's what you would expect in such a setting. Worth to visit...
