Unfortunately, I had one of the worst experiences on a very special occasion. However, I still can not justify them since they claim to have one of the highest standards in all Cyprus.
In the middle of July 2021, we made a reservation for 4 people for the 1st of August at 20:30 because we would have guests from the USA and wanted to take them to a fine dining restaurant. On that day, something came up, and we called at 19:00 to inform them that we would be 30 minutes late. Stefanos, the person in charge who answered the phone, told us that they have a very strict policy about being late. Therefore, they could not accept us at 21:00, so we shouldn't even bother to go there. I politely explained that we had made the reservation 2 weeks earlier for this special occasion and were not informed about such a policy on the phone. Moreover, we didn't simply show up late, but we called beforehand to tell them about the issue we faced. Stefanos said that he would see what he could do and call us back. He called 15 minutes later, saying that nothing could be done about nine. He was trying to explain that they wouldn't be able to serve us properly at nine, which didn't make much sense to me since in case we showed up on time, we would be there ordering things from 20:30 to 22:30 anyway. I begged if they could accept us later that day. He called back, saying that it was still not possible. That was the time I requested him to connect me to the manager. He told me that he could not connect me, but he could pass the message to him about the case and get back to me. I then got another call from Stefanos telling me that the manager was informed and could do nothing about our case. That was the end of our discussion with Stefanos. Unfortunately, it was too late for me to find a great place to take my guests that night, so we ended up eating something casual.
Five days later, I called the "Alion" hotel and asked them to connect me to "The Deck's" manager, Pieros. I wanted to make sure that he was informed about the incident and express my disappointment. He was very apologetic about the whole situation, explaining that the incident was Stefanos's mistake, who had not actually informed him until the next day. He told me that this is not how the hotel usually responds to situations like this. However, they are trying hard to maintain the highest standards. He invited me to go to "The Deck" on another day to show us their hospitality. My question still remains: Since he was informed the next day of a mistake that came down to one person, which is not complying with their highest standards... wouldn't it be proper to call me at some point to apologize and sort this through? This is the least I would expect.
I know that this is not a food quality review. Still, the whole experience is as important to me, especially regarding fine dining restaurants. From my experience, restaurants in Cyprus have to up their game if they want to reach the level of restaurants abroad. I hope my reviews help in moving them in...

Very soon after we say down we were asked if we were ready to order. We haven't even been asked if we wanted water or a cocktail. Our entree plates were whisked away and we were asked if we were ready for our mains. I asked to slow the pace.5 minutes later the mains arrived . The moment the mains plates were taken the dessert menu was thrust in front of us. They would make a lot more money from their guests if they slowed the service . My dining partner and I would usually drink 2 bottles of wine but we hadn't even finished the first bottle and the mains plates were finished. it is very difficult to find good food in Aya Napa and food here is well above any where else but the staff need to chill. Read moreWe visited The Deck in Alion hotel on my birthday. I made my reservation online, we arrived on time, staff was so professional,polite and friendly. At the beginning they brought us a some dips and bread , a small bite that i couldnt eat cause I am allergic to shrimps but my husband loved it. Special credits to the waiter,as soon as I mention my allergy (cause i already mention it in the online booking) he replaced it with some vegetables. It was a great act for me even though i mention its ok i dont need something else. That was a big plus for them. All the plates were amazing, very tasty,they arrived on time, no delays and rhe place was full of people.Special mention the decoration,presentation f the plates... Wow. From the starters to the desserts, everything was great. We reccomend this restaurant and of course special thanks to each one of the waiters/tresses that served us that night.
