The absolute best place to stay when in central Nicosia. It is located on the vibrant Onasagorou St and is backing onto Ledra St (the two most famous pedestrianized streets of the old town, both accessible from the front door via a beautiful passageway hosting a funky bar, the best local grill, and the coolest cafe in Nicosia). The hotel oozes with charm and old world nostalgia, embedding you in the history of medieval Nicosia from the moment you check in until you leave. Looking out of your room you will see locals and tourists alike enjoying local cuisine at Evroula’s Souvlakia below the hotel, drinking coffee, downing cocktails or eating sweets at Patio, or dining on Italian at Tavolino next door or Lebanese around the corner at Fanous. Wake up on the weekend to the sounds of the old local men playing backgammon (tavli) on the street. Just a few steps away are a plethora of restaurants, tavernas, brunches, cafes, bars and clubs. During the day dozens of museums, cultural venues and historic buildings are visitable within 1-5 minute walks. The area is buzzing with life and humanity, as it has for centuries. You are literally part of it all. The owners of the hotel are incredibly friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about the old town and Cyprus in general. They make the hotel truly feel like a home away from home with their warm welcome, personalized service and with their well kept and clean rooms full of interesting items to draw your attention. They even generously offer a mini bar with free local wine, a snack and water. The common areas offer a secure and pleasant environment to work on the dining table, read on the couch or chat with clients from other rooms if you wish. As a lover of Nicosia, I highly recommend 3 Rooms...
Read moreFirst of all the place is branded as a boutique hotel. It is NOT a hotel. It is closer to an airbnb and in that case an expensive one. ||The only pros of the place is its location but after our experience I would never to choose to stay here again.||We booked two rooms for two nights through a number that was on their website, and asked for a twin bed and a double bed. When we arrived we sent a message to the number and they remotely opened the doors and we did not see anyone. First thing I saw was a lump of hair on the dresser with a cleaning cloth! This was not a good sign. The double bed turned out to be two single beds attached with a thin bed sheet (which had blood stains) and the 2 mattresses where not aligned making a big dip in the middle so we couldn’t sleep in the middle on the double bed. There were no blankets, only extra thin bed sheets to cover yourself at night, and the AC (which makes weird noises every once is a while) hits the bed directly. We also couldn’t switch the AC off because it was too hot. ||We called the number the next day to complain about the room but no one replied. They only sent a message after the second day to check if we want to extend, to which we said certainly not. ||The bathroom was ok but not fancy at all, only two small plastic bottles with refilled shampoo and body wash and towels. ||I have been to many hotels and this was one of the worst experiences. ||I expected an authentic, local experience, and what we got was a cheaply furnished old building apartment. I would have rated it 2 stars as an airbnb but for a place that is branded as a hotel, it certainly was below expectations especially since it failed to reach the lowest levels of customer service...
Read moreAdvertised as a Boutique Hotel, definitely not. It is an Air b&b of average rating if anything. |We were not greeted by anyone and were let in remotely. |The location is great and close to many points of interest. The problems mainly concern the quality of the rooms. The double bed was actually two single beds that were stuck together and covered with a bed sheet. The mattresses didn’t fit properly side by side which left a gap that you would fall in every time you move to the centre of the bed. |The balcony is very cute but the floor is covered with cheap plastic artificial grass that blocks the door from opening easily (not a major issue).|The bathrooms were very basic in decoration and had cheap shampoo and gel refilled bottles. |The main problem apart from the bed comfort which came only with a thin sheet and no blanket was the AC which would make strange noises in the middle of the night and it blows in your face no matter how you would adjust the direction (I did know how to use the controls). |If advertised as an Air b&b and the price was €50 as maximum I would’ve...
