This was a good place for our group to stay - mum and two adult 'children' . We are quite used to ending up in triple accommodation which leaves us drawing lots for who is sharing the double bed and who gets the single! - all jammed in a tiny room with dodgy wifi! No such scenario at Villa Gap! Spacious triple bed room with a large bathroom - although small shower . Everything was scrupulously clean and the linen was good quality . Excellent Free Wifi and good value for money.|We appreciated our own fridge in the room.A kettle would have also been welcome. We would have liked air con but at least we had an electric fan and an opening window and full length opening dummy balcony door with half glass to stop you falling out into the car parking below! Having peeped in the double room next door which had only velux windows in the roof we felt lucky to have an opening window and door. |The shared kitchen with 2 other rooms was spotless the entire time and equipped with hob, microwave and dishwasher. It would have been a bit tricky preparing any meal if all 3 rooms had decided to cook at once! |The reception guy was efficient but not over friendly - we put this down to the language barrier. |There was a laundry room available plus lockable luggage storage outside. |A big plus point was free parking even if it did test my reverse bay parking skills on a hill with no handbrake ! Parking is very expensive in Cesky Krumlov ! |It is only a 10 min walk down the hill to the old town and all the sights .... BUT in 30 degree heat it is quite a steep climb back up to the apartment ! We compromised by walking down in the mornings , sweating our way back in the early afternoon , having a rest and then taking the car down and parking for the duration of our evening meal and promenade in the car park 100m beyond P1 which is 15k cheaper per hour . |There is a small family run food store for essentials about 300m away with friendly staff who went out of their way to help, given the language barrier. Would stay again and recommend...
Read moreA family-style house with small but modern apartments on the outskirts of Český Krumlov.
There are free (and slightly tight) parking spaces in front of the house and the accommodation does allow a late self-check in (keys left in the lock box), which was quite helpful when arriving late.
The apartment itself is closer to a larger hotel room with a simple shared kitchen outside in the hallway. It's got everything you may need for a weekend and it's quite tastefully decorated. I didn't spend much time in the room, but it it was quiet at night, even with the guests in the next room.
Because it's located on top of the hill, getting to the city centre is a matter of 10-15 minutes of walking down with some cool scenic views opening up to you on the way, so definitely worth it. Coming back is a bit more demanding and boring, but everybody should be able to make it.
So if you're looking for a nice and affordable accommodation to visit one of the most fairy-tale cities in the Czechia (and don't mind the extra walking), this villa is a great alternative to all the overvalued hotels and AirBnBs in the centre with oftentimes complicated or...
Read moreWe had an excellent stay with Villa Gap for two nights. The online check-in was quick and smooth, easy to navigate. We were satisfied with the room including a bedroom with two beds, enormous bathroom, and living room with open kitchen and a very comfy sofa. Clean, quiet and spacious. Walkable distance to the Cesky Krumlov Town (15 minutes walk) and 5 minutes drive to the supermarket. Cooking experience was pleasant especially with dish washer provided. Bathtub and air-dryer might flaw the perfect experience. Water was yellowish from bathtub and no hot air from air-dryer. Or otherwise, everything is perfect. Highly...
