Penzion Vysehrad — Hotel in okres Český Krumlov

Travelled with 2 of my friends, we booked this because of the price and they provide triple bed room. First of all there is only a small map provided, no clear instruction how to get there. No sign boards and therefore took us an hour to get there. Waited for 20mins and there's no receptionist there to check us in, we went to the pub next door and they said they don't know anyone in the penzion and we have to just wait for someone to come and check us in. After sometimes a lady came out which appear to be the receptionist, speak limited English and gave us wrong change which lack of 10czk and have to ask her for the 10czk back. Location was very far and u have to go through a steep hill. Going back to hostel during night time is quite terrible and scary because of u have to go through the steep hill with limited street lights. Definitely not recommended to female traveller which travel alone. The shower room was quite decent and clean. The room itself looks a bit old and dodgy. Receptionist was not there during night time and no guidance on how to contact them. Checking out again no receptionist and waited for 20mins for someone to check us out. Overall is a bad experience...

Location wise this hostel is located on top of a steep hill and it is situated at a corner. There werent any sigboards at all to direct us to the hostel thus it took us literally an hour just to find it. Staff speaks minimum English and they were rude.we had to wait for 30 mins in the lobby to check in because there were noone in the reception. Once during the evenings there were no hostel staff at all when we had trouble with the lock of the door. If you are the type of tourist who likes experiencing the country you are in and learning about it, this is your hotel. It's not in the city centre so you see local people around. You go up hill to get to it and there are really nice views at the top of the hill. Although it's humble, you have all you need; beds are comfortable, everything is clean, Wi-Fi works very well, breakfast is nice and staff are friendly.
