Hotel Morava — Hotel in okres Znojmo

I spent here one night. What I must appreciate is location - the hotel is located in Horni naměstí - square in the heart of the town. Location is good but parking is not so. The hotel offers parking in the court. But there is are only a few parking spaces. If there are in hotel more guests with cars, probably there will be not enough spaces for all. And parking in town center is problematic - paid zones are around there. The space in court is tiny - if you want to move your car, you must ask other drivers.||||The reception (part of restaurant) is not operated non-stop. Staff is here available only during your check-in, breakfast and check-out or if when the restaurant is opened. Staff - probably owner and his family - is kind and helpfull.||||The common spaces and corridors are as ugly as possible. It's not like hotel. The hotel rooms are very poor. There are furnished by different types of furniture - everything old and very used. Be sure that bed like this can't provide comfortable sleeping. The bathroom seems not be very clean.||||The hotel restaurant is also very pure. Cusine is worse than average. We were also in hotel cellar on wine tasting. The znojmo's wines are excellent. Wer in Znajm/Znojmo ein günstiges Hotel in zentraler Lage sucht, ist mit dem Hotel Morava gut bedient. Die Zufahrt ist wegen dem Einbahnsystem etwas umständlich, aber schließlich ist man angekommen, und der Wirt stellt auch seinen privaten PKW weg, damit man im Innenhof parken kann (draußen auf dem Platz scheint Kurzparkzone zu sein). Beim Eintreten schlägt einem leider ein unangenehmer Geruch entgegen, denn in der Gaststube wird heftig geraucht, und beim Kochen dürfte ein altes oder billiges Öl verwendet werden. Sollte man das Pech haben, dass das eigene Zimmer über dem Entlüftungsrohr für die Küche liegt, sollte man das Lüften lieber bleiben lassen. Ansonsten merkt man auf Schritt und Tritt, dass das Hotel etwas „retro“ ist: Wegen des Aneinanderbaus von zwei Häusern aus verschiedenen Epochen ist alles etwas verwinkelt und die Gänge lang. Ein Uraltlift aus der sozialistischen Epoche sowie eine vergammelte Garderobe, die schon fast historischen Wert hat, „zieren“ den Eingangsbereich. Im ersten Stock ist der Privatbereich der Betreiberfamilie mit sehenswerten Vorhängen vom Hotelbereich getrennt, und ein Gitterbettchen steht als Reserve da auf dem etwas billigen Teppichboden. Das Treppenhaus mit seinem schmiedeeisenen Gitter und den vielen Blumen wirkt freundlich-archaisch, wahrscheinlich aus den Zeiten der Monarchie. Aus alten (und nicht immer besseren) Zeiten hängen auch viele Fotos und Bilder von Znaim in den Gängen. Die Zimmer selbst sind soweit in Ordnung, wenn man von den „Fahnenstangen-Grundrissen“ einzelner absieht: langer Gang beim Hineinkommen (dort steht auch der Schrank), dann erst beginnt das eigentliche Zimmer. Der Blick über die Dächer und das Gurren der Tauben haben beinahe etwas Romantisches. Nur mein Leintuch war ziemlich zerrissen und reichte wohl nicht für die ganze Matratze. Die Leute geben sich aber Mühe, sprechen auch zur Not Deutsch: Alles ist frisch ausgemalt, in freundlichen Farben, die Dusche ist voll okay, auch beim Frühstücksbuffet hat man wahrscheinlich für tschechische Verhältnisse viel aufgeboten (Eier, Müsli, Aufstriche etc.), auch wenn Manches nicht ganz unserem Standard entspricht. Great place to stay especially if you are travelling by motorbike, as they can be safely parked in the hotel courtyard. We arrived early at 3pm, and were brought beers by the lovely lady on reception. Rooms were clean but OK, and the hotel is a lot newer on the inside than the outside suggests. A bit strange being asked to lock the door to the floor where the rooms are at ... don't forget your key if the place catches fire !! Some bars and an Indian restaurant are located off the plaza adjacent to the hotel, so there is a bit to do in the evening.
