This is a no frills hotel at an inexpensive price that's really close to several tram & bus lines. Very convenient. Helpful front desk staff that speaks enough English to be a non-issue. Housekeeping came with fresh towels & cleaned the bathroom daily & changed the bed every other day. The room is small, clean and adequate. No fridge or extras in my room. Reliable WiFi in my room.
I didn't try any of the other listed amenities. I did use the laundry service though. One front desk person said 24 hour turn around time. It took a little longer than that, but wasn't a big deal because I wasn't in a rush. My laundry came back scratchy clean and folded. About 500 CzK total for about 2 medium to large loads washed and folded. A bit higher than I'd been quoted by the other desk clerk, but it was nice to not have to lug it all 20 minutes away to the other place I found. I'd get my estimate in writing upon drop off. I may have easily misunderstood though.
The front desk will arrange to have delivered any food you'd like. They call up a service and arrange it for you, if you'd like. The desk staff is very helpful.
There are a few places to eat near by, within easy walking distance from a walk up pizza window to a really nice place called Concordia and a more casual good place called West Pizza. Both are not too expensive and have good food & friendly, prompt service. Concordia was pretty fancy. Between those places, you can get everything from delicious and beautifully presented stuffed pork tenderloin to nachos, hot wings, or even a burrito.
Men and women of all ages walking to and from the transit stops without issue at all hours. Neighborhood seems quite safe, but doesn't look it. Just a normal, working class looking neighborhood, judging by my observation of the people.
The breakfast is OK if you don't want/need eggs (or lots of protein) daily (eggs are a rarity) and eat what normal people eat. But, if you're on a Paleo type diet, you're gonna have a hard time maintaining your weight. From what I understand, this is the normal breakfast spread around here.
A funny note: The breakfast room is open from 0730-1030. In most parts of the US, where I'm from, that means if you get in by 1030, you're safe. Not at this place. Just before 1030, they start closing down. One day, the kitchen manager type lady came in, looked at the crowd of breakfast goers at 1030 pointed to her watch and waved her arm as if to say, "What part of 'closed at 1030' don't you understand?". I felt like I was in Memphis again! Hahaha.
Overall, I'd stay here again. No, it's not The Ritz, but it's clean & comfortable and you can't beat the price and the convenience of the close...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COSTS! This place is the single worst experience I have ever had in thirty years of travel. I have stayed in better hostels and campsites! The whole place smelled of stale tobacco and dust. There are any number of people at the reception, wearing no uniform, so very hard to know who actually works there. There were no apparent fire alarm call points in the entire hotel. The fire evacuation signage was a rudimentary map of green arrows pointing to the stairs and which wasn’t displayed in the room! There were no smoke detectors anywhere in the hotel as far as I could see. There was an old mattress next to our door and a broken bed blocking a fire extinguisher by the lift. The lift felt like a death trap with no internal door so you could touch the interior of the lift shaft as the lift moved. The room was very stark with sparse decoration and barely any furnishings (cigarette burnt chair) no kettle, mirror, telephone or even a wardrobe! The remote control didn’t work properly and we had to turn the TV off by unplugging it! Not having a kettle in the room I went to get hot water from the ground floor to take back up to the fourth floor and they couldn’t even give me proper cups but offered plastic ones that weren’t of the proper grade for hot liquids making them go very soft and supple with hot liquids in them… On the only time we went to try the breakfast I was again astonished at the offering in a very depressing breakfast room. Frankfurters in hot water, chicken wings in a bit of liquid, a mixed bean thing, couscous, one slice of cheese and a few slices of meat along with some cereal and a few slices of dry bread. We took 2 yoghurts and a few slices of grapefruit and walked out. Having paid a 20 euro deposit against smoking in the room I was asked if I wanted a receipt or not. When I went to recover this deposit I was asked to handover the receipt otherwise they wouldn’t be able to give the deposit back, I wonder how much they made out of that?! 3 star hotel?...

I stayed at Gallery Hotel Sis in Prague from June 9th to 12th, 2024, and it was a terrible experience.
We discovered bed bug bites on our bodies. When I tried to report this, there was no one at the reception. With other guests around, I didn’t want to discuss such a sensitive issue publicly. I messaged the hotel through booking.com, as they had responded quickly to a previous request, but this time, they didn’t reply at all.
When checking out, I informed the receptionist about the bed bug bites and showed them the bites on forehead, arm, hands, and pictures of bites on my back. They asked if we had seen any bed bugs, but I hadn't. I'm not on vacation to hunt for bugs. The receptionist seemed unsure what to do and went to consult the manager. Disappointingly, the manager did not come to speak with us directly. Instead, they relayed a message through the receptionist suggesting we visit a medical center for tests. We were leaving for our flight and didn't have time for that.
Additionally, the bathroom in our room was dirty and had a bad odor. When we asked a cleaning staff member for a new towel, they said they didn’t have any.
As we were leaving the room to check out, we noticed two new mattresses in the corridor, suggesting that they had seen my message about the bed bugs and were preparing to clean the room and change the mattresses. This made it clear that they deliberately did not reply to my complaint. (See pictures).
Overall, this stay was a complete disappointment. I had to clean all my belongings at high temperatures when I got home to avoid bringing bed bugs with me, which ruined some of my items. I do not recommend this hotel due to its poor hygiene and...
