I cannt believe that such a low level of service can be provided by european hotel! When we arrived in the evening to the hotel, we were offered totally enother room in comparison we have booked a few month ago (with request of garden view). Our room had no one window (only two little holes under the ceiling, which I couldnt get when I am standing straight on my feet). There were a huge amount of humidity, the room smelled very bad, the bathroom was super old and almost destroyed. After my child started to cry that she will not take a shower in such a bathroom, I came to receptionist and asked to find some solution, as we cannt stay here for the night. He said, that all other rooms are already occupied and he cannt make any decision without of manager of hotel, who is on weekend (!!!) till the next morning. I called to booking.com with request of money compensation and to book enother hotel, but they answered me in the same way - it us not possible till tommorow, when manager at last come back and confirm the compensation. So we didnt have any other option then only to stay in this place. In the morning manager was very rude with us, she tried to proof me, that it is usual standart room with garden view and „terrasse“ as we asked before. But terrasse consisted of 3 high walls without of windows as well! The feelings, that you are sleeping in basement, you cannt see any peace of outside from your room (I cannt believe, that it is possible to offer such an accomodation in Prague). In the end manager yelled to us: „Stop crying and leave Europe!“ (just for a case, we are living in Germany) and slammed the door of my room loudly. I would never recommend somebody to book here any room. By the way, we didnt get any refund from the hotel.

We got a room next to rooms with group of young men that were partying and shouting in the hotel before they headed the town. When we asked staff to react or to move us to different room because it was so noisy they were helpless... They told us that was a similar problem a day before so that was another day of such behaviour was tacitly accepted... All in all, the whole evening until 22:30 we had to bear the noise, shouts of their before party and counting on they leave soon... Obviously we have been also awakened at the dawn when this group came back to the hotel and made noise again. This is not the thing you expect when book a room in the hotel with a reception 24h. The garbage those guests left in the corridor next to our room when running between their rooms remained there for the whole night even though it was raised to the staff and they have viewed this on the monitoring - again no reaction. The room was so poor and unkempt - mould in the bathroom, peeling plaster, bad smell and no amenities in the room - nothing like a glass even... The furniture in the room seems to be random set of things that were founded in different places. Strongly NOT recommended - in the similar price range you can find much better stays in the city and similar location. I would not stay there again even having it for free.

I was given a “Wellness” gift to Hotel Otakar. The hotel and location were very clean and sanitary. The ambiance was a mix between retro-mob and old classic, which seems to have worked well for them. The reception staff was also nice. The “Wellness” experience consisted of a whirlpool with a relation large bench, shower and separate toilet all located in one space. The mode was set with ambiance music playing the entire time and lighting (which you could change). They have various packages so they are worth a look. But make sure you know EXACTLY what you want. We thought he were able to use the spa but it was not included.

We chose Hotel Otakar because of the wellness (hot tub); otherwise, we would have picked a different hotel. The wellness was reserved via email (where it seemed like they weren't even aware of our payment) and then confirmed by the receptionist at check-in on the afternoon of our arrival. We were unpleasantly surprised when, a few minutes before our reservation, we went to the reception and were simply told by a different receptionist (not the one from the afternoon) that the hot tub is only for two people, so we couldn't use it as a group of three. This was not mentioned to us in the afternoon when we arrived at the hotel, and if it had been, we could have made different arrangements. ||||We initially got our money back, but then I checked the reservation system, and there was no indication that the hot tub area was only for two people. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like the receptionist cared much, especially since the mistake was clearly not on our part and the reservation had been confirmed as fine by the afternoon receptionist. The other wellness room with a sauna (which we didn't even want) was available, but instead of two hours, we only had the room for one hour because we weren't willing to pay an extra 600 CZK. We were surprised that, besides a weak apology, nothing else was offered to us, and when we asked if we could have the room for two hours at the same price (considering it wasn't our fault), we were told it wasn't possible. ||||In the end, we settled for one hour in the wellness room, which my mom couldn't even enjoy because she had trouble breathing, and the water temperature in the hot tub couldn't be adjusted. If we had been told in the afternoon that the hot tub was only for two, we wouldn't have had a problem and would have made other plans, but we still don't understand how the hotel staff couldn't have known this, confirmed our reservation, and then suddenly in the evening it wasn't possible. ||||The hotel was reasonably priced, and the apartment was clean, but after the weekend, we were quite sore from the beds. However, for just sleeping, it was fine. The fan in the apartment was more decorative as you could only feel a breeze if you stood directly in front of it. The shower door had poor sealing, and water leaked onto the floor during showers. Breakfast was fine, possibly the best part of the stay, although the dining room was very crowded, so you were likely to get bumped into frequently as...

An extremely disappointing experience. Avoid at all costs, especially if they try to give you a 'room' on the 5th floor. The 5th floor is essentially a converted loft, where they improvised 4 rooms that barely qualify for the name. They are extremely crowded, have no proper storage space for clothes, only one electrical socket, terrible bathrooms with malfunctioning toilets, broken shower screen doors and the list goes on. The rooms are nothing like what you see in the pictures, which are taken from the regular rooms on floors 1-4. The elevator doesn't even go to the 5th floor (you have to take some stairs from the 4th), which shows again that the entire 5th floor situation is just an improvised arrangement, made out of greed to squeeze out some extra rooms out of what should essentially be a storage / maintenance area. I will state for clarity that when we made the booking we were presented with pictures from the regular rooms which offer decent space for the most part and double beds for some. We even explicitly selected the double bed option, to avoid a twin room. Of course, there is no double bed on the 5th floor and you can't even put the twins together since that fully occupies the entire width of the room, with not a centimeter to spare. I could go on about the laughable wifi which disconnects randomly every 5-10 minutes, but those kind of details are minor nuisances compared to the frustration of paying the full double room price for the glorified storage closet where we were 'accommodated'. When I mentioned my grievances to the receptionist, he just presented me with a very neutral 'Ok', and that was pretty much the end of the conversation (not that I was really expecting anything more). In summary, the entire experience left me with a very sour taste and I will do my best to avoid this and any related hotels in the future. I can only recommend you...
