Needed a quick, cheap 3 day break away and so settled on Prague. Picked the Hotel Dalimil, as it was near the town and very reasonably priced. Just about 35 euros a night , including breakfast. Our room was spacious enough and we were quite comfortable in it .Reception staff were friendly and welcoming but the breakfast staff were a different matter!! Breakfast was served from 7-10 am. In our experience if you get down before they stop serving, you can normally eat your breakfast at your own pace, within reason of course. However on our first morning down, we arrived at 9-40 am, thinking we were in plenty of time to enjoy our breakfast. And the spread , for the price, was very good. Cereal, toast, cold cuts and hot local produce, a kind of sausage I think, but we passed on that. So we were just tucking into our toast when we were quite unceremoniously told, BREAKFAST 10. The formidable lady informing us this held up her two hands to emphasise the number. We nodded and continued eating. But we had not fully understood. She repeated her 10 chant, and the penny dropped. Breakfast finished at 10 and we were to go. We chuckled to ourselves and left, apologising on our way out. Now we were both in the catering industry for years, so understood the lady well. Our next two mornings found us in the breakfast room at 9, and had plenty of time to eat our breakfast. Also , we didn't know that guests brought their finished dishes to a trolly for the staff to collect, we quickly rectified that. On our last morning, we even got a smile from the ''tough'' Czech lady. The hotel also serves meals during the day and evening, and we availed ourselves one day and found the pig's leg and beef cheeks very tasty indeed.||Overall the Hotel Dalaimil is well worth visiting and you would be hard pressed to find a...

My experience living with START Capital Partners (via GoStudy) was extremely negative.
📌 What happened:
I was placed in a room that was significantly different from the photos presented during the booking process.
The room did not meet basic hygiene standards (odor, poor ventilation, cleanliness issues).
My roommate lived under the same conditions but paid 1,500 CZK less because he was “upgraded” to a higher-tier room — while I was left paying more under unequal terms.
I was issued two fines:
One for smoking "on the premises", even though I was physically outside the window.
One for a medical incident, which was mistakenly interpreted as drug use. I was threatened with deportation and forced drug testing — with no proof and no right to defend myself.
📍When I questioned the situation and asked for clarification, I was threatened with immediate contract termination and forfeiture of my deposit.
📎 On paper — everything might appear to be within “internal rules”. But in practice:
double standards,
psychological pressure,
refusal to acknowledge health-related needs,
unequal pricing for the same conditions.
I am filing official complaints with ČOI (Czech Trade Inspection Authority) and the Ombudsman of the Czech Republic.
👉 If you are an international student, be extremely careful. Read every contract line carefully, and record every interaction with the...
Read moreWe have booked this hotel for 3 nights. The website said that we need 10 minutes to the centre and that there are parking facilities. We arrived and there were no parking possibilities. We had to look for a parking space on our own and it took us 45 minutes to the center. In addition, the ceiling almost fell off in the entrance hall and there was building material everywhere, so there was a lot of noise. The flow of the stairs to the rooms were broken and it sounded like you could break through at any time. In the room it smelled very strongly after perfume. There were unsavoury stains on the carpet and on the curtains of the window. The door to our bedroom was too big for the door frame, so we couldn't close the door. The shower fell apart and we had a piece of plastic in our hands every time we wanted to close the shower doors. The joints and the rubber of the shower was brown and black. The toilet lid was made of plastic and already yellow colored with spots. The staff never said hello despite friendly greetings. But the breakfast room was in a chic vintage style and the food was okay. We knew that we couldn't expect much for 95€ with breakfast but it was too disgusting. I'm a young woman, I can still travel a lot but for my older father I was very sorry, because he was very happy and also hoped a lot. Stay safe and read the reviews...
