If you're in the Křižíkova or Karlin area where you can cross through the tunnel, Taiko Restaurant is a must-try for a quick and satisfying lunch. The restaurant may look small from the outside, but inside you'll find a spacious basement that can accommodate a large number of guests. Even if the restaurant isn't crowded when you arrive, don't be discouraged; many people order food for delivery from Taiko. One of the standout features of Taiko is their menu, it is limited but it is exactly what I find comforting that I don't have to go through many pages. It offers a short list that are all delicious. Whether you prefer a classic bowl of ramen or something more adventurous, they have you covered. I've tried a variety of dishes, including the savory chicken ramen and the spicy miso ramen, and everything has been consistently delicious. You should also check out their drink menu, where you may recognize some references to anime. In addition to their main dishes, Taiko's starters are also noteworthy. Whether you're looking for something light and crunchy like gyoza or something more substantial like crispy fried chicken, they have options that will satisfy any craving. To complement further, the drinks are also impressive. Their plum juice is a must-try, and the coconut lemonade is just as refreshing and tasty. While Taiko may be a bit pricier than other options in the area, the quality of food and level of service make it well worth it. They accept both cash and card payments, so you can easily pay for your meal no matter how you prefer to do so. Overall, Taiko Restaurant is a great option for a quick and satisfying lunch. Whether you're looking for classic Japanese dishes or something new, they have options that will please everyone. With friendly and courteous staff, you can expect a fantastic dining experience every...
Read moreAbsolutely wonderful place. I live in Miami, which is full of ramen shops, and nothing compares to this. The quality and flavor of the food is outstanding, I recommend the dragon ball croquetes and the karaage don, SO GOOD! Some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever had. Super thin batter yet SO crispy… The dragon balls were puffy, crispy, chewy, salty, garlicy, slightly spicy and sour. I had the tonkotsu ramen, which was really good, and they are super generous with the charsu! Don’t get me started on the ramen egg! I could taste the soy sauce in the yolk, so flavorful! Not even in Ichiran they serve eggs like this. The aromatic oil, tare, toppings, and broth were all flavorful and you could tell alot of thought was put into each and every component of their food. The atmosphere was wonderful, the decoration is SUPER cute. I love how it feels very intimate yet cool, an awsome layout. A moody atmosphere thats lightened up with pink accents. Even the toilet paper was pink! The employees were all super kind and thoughtful of our experience, they’d constantly check up on us and were super friendly. Not to mention, we loved the music on aux!!!
Overall, amazing experience and would totally recommend to anyone who’s looking for new cuisines to try, a lover of ramen or east asian food, or simply to go and eat! Keanu Reeves was onto something when he came here!
5/5, would give 6/5...
Read moreWent to Taiko for the first time. Ambience welcoming with muted yet colourful tones, and the employees refreshingly friendly with smiles. Menu is simple which is spot on. A ramen place doesn't need a million items on offer. While the broth was a bit oily and slightly on the heavy side, the noodles were nice as we're the toppings. As always, the broth wasn't hot enough. Don't understand why soups, broths and hot drinks in this country are always served practically cold! Ramen broth needs to be hot. I will go back because I want to try their "So so angry chikin!" 😁Was so happy to have Kirin Ichiban. I will also be back because the service was unusually friendly and attentive (the waitress came by several times to check if we wanted anything more, if all was fine). I also noticed both the manager and staff walking around, observing customers, making sure all was okay, being attentive in case someone needed something. That's not the norm in The Czech Republic, so when it happens, it's really wonderful and much appreciated. Though it's not 100% Japanese-authentic, it's good and I would recommend Taiko. You'll have a relaxed,...
