Great stay! My first international trip so I didn't know what to expect. Check-in was effortless and quick. We did unfortunately get the room directly opposite reception so we did hear quite a lot of noise during check-in and check-out times and also late check-ins. The aircon was effective when it worked - but this was fixed very promptly by reception staff. The bed's weren't too bad, I probably would have struggled over a long-period of time but they were fine. The pillows were far too soft in my opinion, but again it was comfortable enough. The TV only had 1 working channel which was in Czech so no good for me. Thankfully netflix did work. The mini-fridge was a very nice touch but didn't really get cold enough even on max. There was a safe in the room which worked fine. The bathroom was spotless, the shower was plenty big enough with quite high pressure. The room and bathroom overall were great and very clean. Throughout our stay, the room was cleaned daily with bedding and towel changes every 3 days. Breakfast was continental.. I was expecting just cereals, pastries and stuff like that. There were what looked and tasted like hot dog sasuages, eggs & beans. The breakfast was sufficent but we easily got fed up of it after a few days. It did keep us full throughot the day, so saved us money when exploring the city. The location is ideal, around a 10 minute walk to I.P. Pavlola which has a metro station which I think served Line C. For 30 minutes, it cost £2.24 for 2 people. There also was plenty of places to get food, such as Baggetterie Boulevard which quickly became our favourite. There are also regular trams into more touristy areas and towards the castle. We did end up leaving our bags with reception for an hour at check-out to allow us to get coffee & snacks as we made our way to Hlavní nádraží to catch the Airport Express bus back to Prague Airport, which cost 100czk each for adults (Cost around £7.75 ish, the bus accepted card & cash) Taxis from the airport were reasonable for the time of night we arrived lol between £15-£25. The general area around the hotel felt safe, however some areas I wouldn't want spend too much time around. The roads were a free-for-all and some drivers & motorcyclists did not stop at red lights) I will book this hotel again, and wouldn't hesitate to reccomend...
Read moreOutbound flight from Birmingham to Prague was delayed so I arrived much later than I anticipated and in the darkness, in a taxi from PRG it’s roughly 30 minutes travel time. Upon arrival, the front desk Ine/Ina was warm, friendly and welcoming, it took a few minutes to check in, then she kindly gave me a map of the city and highlighted main attractions, travel systems.
My room was clean and quiet, had a comfy double bed with comfortable and soft duvet and pillows. The bathroom also very clean, a high pressure shower equipped with a Dove shampoo dispenser, clean and soft towels are also provided. Some small toiletries are also provided such as a stocked hand wash dispenser, shower cap, small packets with cotton buds and cotton pads can also be found. Also, there is a hair dryer provided, speaking as someone with fairly thick hair, I found it powerful enough to do the job. The WiFi in the room was absolutely perfect, accessible throughout the room and at all times full strength.
Tea making facilities are provided in the room alongside a couple of bottles of water upon arrival and there is a continental breakfast service from 7:30-9:30 which I believe is a cost of €9/£8 if it isn’t already included as part of your stay.
The closest tram stop is Pod Karlovem and can be reached in approx. 5/6 minutes, not the 10 minutes suggested elsewhere, here you can catch the 6 tram going towards the centre, which is roughly 15 minutes. Alternatively, Bruselská is also along the route of 6 and can be reached in approx. 8-10 minutes of walking.
The location of the hotel, personally I found to be convenient and well located and access in and out of the city is convenient and efficient. It is elsewhere mentioned that it is located in a “dirtier, sketchy” area of Prague. It’s not. As like most of Prague, the streets are clean and well looked after, in 4 nights staying as a solo female traveller and navigating the area at night, I came across nothing sketchy or anything of the sort and felt safer there, than I do at home in Birmingham. Don’t be panicked by the sirens you may hear throughout the day as I understand there is a police station and medical facility within close proximity.
I would and do recommend staying here, it was exactly what I’d hoped...
Read moreMy partner and I had the pleasure of staying at the Royal Court Hotel in Prague to commemorate our engagement anniversary, and I am delighted to share that our experience was exceptional. Upon our arrival, we were warmly welcomed and found our beautifully appointed room awaiting us, complete with a complimentary bottle of wine, which added a truly special touch to our celebration. The room itself was not only aesthetically pleasing but also maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. We particularly appreciated the heated flooring in the bathroom—a luxurious detail that enhanced our overall comfort during our stay. While we did experience a minor issue with the Wi-Fi at the outset, the staff's prompt response was commendable. Upon notifying the receptionist, we were pleasantly surprised by her proactive approach. By the following day, technicians had addressed the issue, which we greatly appreciated. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations, offering a delightful range of options, including porridge—a rarity in many hotels—alongside an assortment of pastries, desserts, and savory dishes. This extensive selection provided a perfect start to our day.
The only slight inconvenience we encountered was the hotel's location. Although we were aware that it was situated in a less secure neighborhood, we managed this by utilizing public transport and services like Bolt for our evening outings, ensuring a safe return to the hotel.
I would like to extend a special thank you to Anna, who consistently attended to our needs with warmth and professionalism throughout our stay. Additionally, we are grateful to Nastya for her exceptional kindness in arranging a takeaway breakfast for us due to our early departure.
In summary, our stay at the Royal Court Hotel was truly memorable, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Prague.
