Design and Character in a great location This is a sleek and stylish design hotel with reasonably big rooms and all the fittings of a boutique hotel. An absolute value for money for the price i paid and what I got in return! LOCATION: Nice location- close to the station as well as all key points of interest in the old town. DINE + DRINK: A very atmospheric bar and a lounge area with a fireplace at the lobby level is a great place to get a pre-drink before heading into town ROOM: I stayed in Room 432, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Sweet view of the Cityscape ; SIZE: Very spacious room, but a compact bed; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to put me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good spa quality cosmetics FACILITIES: The hotel has a deal with the GO2FITNESS Gym that is a mere 200m walk away. And this was one of the highlights of the stay. A massive Gym with an overwhelming range of weights and Cardio machines fit enough for a monster workout! SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to NICOLAI at the front desk for a very warm welcome experience HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and not more than 18Mbps. Big Plasma TV screen but with a very limited number of channels (only around a dozen with a couple of channels in English)

Let's start with the goodies. Location in the center of Odense is great. Also the style and ambience are nice. Service staff friendly and supporting. When it comes to the room, I had, mixed impressions. Room size just acceptable for some days. Cleanness and orderness good. The safe, a bad joke! Much too small. No laptop fits in, A4 not fitting, and even a 10" tablet was not possible to put into the safe. So far, for business travelers useless. Bathroom okay. Desk borderline size for office work. No cabinet in the room. No bottle of water offered (meanwhile a standard to get for free in other hotels). The breakfast in general good, expect scrambled eggs. They tasted and had the consistency, like made from instant powder. If you travel by car, good luck! To find the garage is difficult and to find the hotel parking spaces in the garage is a challenge. My tip, try by Google maps. Set the hotel as your target. It will lead you to the public city garage. There inside are the hotel spaces as well. Look for P2 or P5. Hotel spaces marked with Hotel Odeon on the ground. Note your number plate, to register the car in the lobby. Room prices for DK are more less ok.

Room - not enough place to hang clothes or put stuff, bed is ok, but definitely not a 4/5 stars hotel level. Location - ok location if you take train else it is not the nearest to the downtown area, though you can still walk around 15-30mins to reach there. Service - minimal service for a 4/5 stars hotel, I think no phone in room to call reception for anything. Given a long route to walk to main town area. Was not informed we need to pay for parking within minutes of arrival else risk being fine heavily. Even thought I told the reception I parked my car and will check in later. I thought we will pay for daily parking at hotel as guest so this step to pay within minutes of arrival is not common for all the countries and hotels been to. Incurred 120 Euro fine and hotel simply said yes need to pay first. The signage to pay parking first at the hotel basement is also not obvious, at least for first time visitor. The fine left a sour note on otherwise a very nice country to visit.

I booked 2 nights in this hotel, through its website, around 1 month before my visit to Odense. I booked a standard room at a flexible rate. I gave, as usually in similar circumstances, my credit card details, to secure the reservation. The first sign that they are not a welcoming and reliable hotel was the fact that they charged my card the whole stay immediatly after I booked. This was strange as in the website - and given the fact that ot was a flexible rate - it was stated that the credit card was just to secure the reservation. A few days before our arrival, I received 4 or 5 emails saying that the room we have booked is small (11m2) and if we like they could upgrade us to a bigger room, that will cost us an extra 200 Danish kr each night. Again I found it strange, especially that they sent a lot of emails with that information and that in many other hotels they would upgrade you for free, if they want, no? The day we arrived, they ask us again if we would like an upgrade. We said no. Then they asked us for a 500 Dk kr as a 'deposit'. A 'deposit' for what? (I asked)... 'in case you eat or drink something...' We said that in that case we will pay (of course). They insisted on the 'deposit'. I got a bit upset because I found it unacceptable. I travel a lot to different countries and cities and I cannot remember to leave a deposit in a hotel... So, I continued to complain and finally one of the extremely arrogant employees at the reception told me that the deposit will be to cover expenses in case we steal something (???). This was really unacceptable. How can a hotel, that is suppose to welcome guest, have - as principle - that the guests are thieves??? The lady 'explained' that this is a common thing in hotels in DK. Which is obviously not true. We were in Copenhagen before coming to Odense and no 'deposit' was asked. Furthermore, if this procedure is so common in DK, maybe they should saying this at the Hotel website. Afterwards the whole conversation with the receptionist was surreal. She was really arrogant and not prepared to deal with guests, particularly when they are upset and asking for an explanation. I asked to get refunded (which they did...) and this was the only good thing about this hotel, to leave pi. We found a big and bright room at a wonderful hotel in Odense (first hotel grand) with a wonderful breakfast and, guess what? No 'deposit' was asked or even mentioned at the check in (obviously this is not a common thing in DK, contrary to what the receptionist in Hotel Odeon told us). So%, the conclusion is that Odeon is not a serious, honest and welcoming hotel. There are much better hotels in Odense! This hotel Odeon is just a sad place that does not trust and value guests. So, I do not recommend...

I have been staying at Odeon Hotel for 3 days now and I still have to stay for 2 more nights due to a business trip. Since it is prepaid I can not change the hotel but if it is not I would immediately change it. First of all rooms are too small and there is even no wardrobes in the rooms. You cannot adjust the air conditioner in the room to the temperature you want because the system is working centralized and the reception says they cannot help with this. The location of the hotel is fine, but since there is a train station right next to it, unfortunately the rooms are noisy until late night hours. This is all acceptable but I don't think there is anything that excuses the rudeness of the restaurant staff. The first evening I arrived at the hotel, I wanted to eat at the restaurant, and although I waited for about 10-15 minutes, no one took my order. The restaurant employee did not even greet me, even though she passed by the table where I was sitting several times. After a while, she came to me and said that she was very busy and that I should wait another half hour to order because she could not reduce the quality of service she would provide to other guests. That evening, although I was very tired, I had dinner at a restaurant outside the hotel. I went to the restaurant again this evening and again, the same staff member came to me and showed me the “please wait to be seated sign” at the entrance, even though there was only one table in the restaurant before me. I didn't see the sign because there were other things in front of it and it wasn't visible properly. This time I got really angry and left the restaurant. I guess they don't feel obligated to be polite enough to non-Danish customers. But I would like to remind you that this is a hotel and the people who stay in the hotel stay there because they do not have a home there, in short, they are not from there. I told the other employee at the restaurant that I wanted to leave a customer satisfaction feedback, he said I could do it when I was leaving the hotel, but I think that was also a mistake and so I decided it would be better to put this on...

Too much logistic problem for that they loose 3 stars... -It is currently 1:15am and the hotel is hosting a private party and concert...music is blasting (been that way since 10pm), windows vibrate and i cannot sleep...they didn't thought of informing other customers about it...just waiting for the music to stop...and not much i can do about it (told reception and apparently they can't do anything)...it's not coming from a noisy neighbor but the HOTEL ITSELF...

-lots of trouble during booking. We booked online a room and when we arrived where told it wasn't available. happened a second time when we wanted to add a night and booked it online, we where told that the website ehere we booked the room eas wrong and if we tried booking on the actual website it wouldn't be there (checked the website it was there) -- make sure to sell the right amount of room in the future) -when we finally got a room there was supposed to be a double bed and a couch that transformes into another double bed. The staff there told us it wasn't true and should have booked a room with twins bed if that is what we wanted (no, we wanted two double bed and a large room) so they set up a stiff kids bed instead (had my feet hanging out of it the whole night)... turns out they just didnt know how the couch worked and the morning staff did turned the couch into a double bed for the next night... still had to go through a night on that terrible kids bed...

-the waiters where really really great but we spend 2h30 at the restaurant for a mini steak tartar and chicken...wayyy to slow.

On the good side: Well, the staff in really nice and helpfull. Decoration is pure scandinavian and is really beautiful, food is good, breakfast is nice, rooms are nice. I would have given 5 stars if we didnt have so much problem EVERY SINGLE DAY we spend here and we are almost...
