We were 2 adult couples staying in this 3 bedroom/5 bath condo J402 2/21/25-2/28/25. We found 2 bathrooms incomplete/unusable. The water pressure was insufficient to utilize the really nice rain shower heads. The hot water was just over luke warm, making showers very quick. The main living room A/C unit was either not working as the main room after 3 days still had not cooled off, so we shut that unit off. The units for the bedrooms worked well. Our electricity bill for 7 days was nearly $400usd. Their were 2 windows in the bathrooms that the latches were broken, and we had to duct tape shut. Little lizards roamed the walls, cute but creepy. We were contacted on numerous occasions about maintenance entering our unit to try to resolve a leak in the unit below us, I returned once while they were still there, sitting on the floor playing on their phones. Hopefully that was a unique situation that once resolved won't happen again, but made me a little nervous about leaving my valuables in my "locked" unit. The beds in the bedroom with 2 double beds were very uncomfortable. The ceiling fan in the double bedroom could only be operated via pull chains that were too high to be reached. There was no light in the double bedroom. The loft area couch was filthy and served no purpose. Frankly, the loft served no purpose, it was hot, a dirty couch, and the bathroom was not functioning. The loft opened out to a small outdoor patio, with no furniture and an outdoor shower that didn't work. 3 rolls of toilet paper were provided for the advertised 5 bathrooms for a week stay. No paper towels. No cleaning products supplied, including no trash bags. There was a substantial leak in the roof just outside of the front door in the stairwell that made the floor extremely slick when it rained(daily). The elevator was nice, clean and fast. We found no guidance as to rules/"how to" etc e.g. where is the garbage dumpster, pool hours, how to use TV(we never did figure it out), check out procedures etc. Front desk personnel were of little help for anything, mostly my problem as i do not speak Spanish and their English was minimal. The adjacent/attached restaurant was very rude about using their chaise lounges. On more than one occasion we were told we couldn't use their chaise lounges, that they were for customers, BEFORE they asked if we would like to order food/drinks. There was a sign that indicated the restaurant was for owners and guests of Playa Turquesa, yet it was usually full of people without the Turquesa wristband, so owners and guests couldn't sit down. I don't care one way or another, but adhere to your own policy. The beach was nice, the security guards at the beach did a nice job of moving chaise loungers/tables around to suit you. Water was too rough to snorkel on this side of the island. Vendors selling anything from sunglasses to excursions would pester you frequently regardless of where you were on the beach, without even a comment from security. On another note, this is also true in restaurants, the vendors will come right to your table, while you are eating to try to sell you something and the waiter/restaurant owner says nothing. Be wary of the taxes on goods and services, typically 28% as well as an exchange rate that can be different place to place. Many restaurants, tourist shops, grocery stores, pharmacy are within walking distance and felt safe. We were told not to go out at night and tried not to. We used a taxi to go to/from the airport (<30 minutes) $30usd group of 4, each way. To get around the neighborhood you can use a poppi. We took the bus to the jumbo(like a Walmart) but were told not to take a bus or poppi at night. Poppi's and taxi's are very negotiable. Excursions, tourist item etc are all very negotiable. We did not drink the water and had no problems, although we talked to people there that had brushed their teeth and ended up in the toilet for days. All in all, we tried to be out and about, beach, excursions etc. and had a good time, we did cook a few meals in the condo but tried to be out most of the time.

¡Me ENCANTÓ!

Soriano Boutique Rooms is a good location very close to the beach. If you want to explore the Dominican Republic book your room, airport transportation, kitesurfing lessons and excursions here. This is a place where you can meet people (locals and tourists), eat where and what you want, no hurrying back to an all-inclusive hotel to make sure you get the breakfast, lunch and dinner you paid for.||||What I really liked about this accommodation:||||The perfect location, possibility of just walking out your room/apartment and meeting people and visit many restaurants you want such as Kats corner, Don Pio, Citrus and many more, supermarkets in the area, short walk to the beach, beautiful beautiful view, very helpful staff, the price is good in comparison to what you get, safe place to stay, locks on the doors, cleaning service, you can take a bus around the corner, exchange office really nearby. The place itself, is good. Very beautiful beach with a bar that serves good food and has good music. Nice pools. And all minor problems at the accommodation were being managed by Efren, who handled each problem like a pro. He and others even helped me find a hairdresser so I could look good on my bday.||||The Dominican people were very friendly and helpful and I felt completely safe taking the public transit and walking around. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. They make the experience enjoyable and inviting. I would recommend Soriano Boutique Rooms at Playa Turquesa to everyone. It is a nice place to relax and have a good time. Who needs expensive all-inclusive resorts when you can have a place where there is lots of flexibility.||||They also offer excursions to Saona island and airport shuttle. Great value for your money.||||I even took some short lessons on how to kitesurf. The guys at the kitesurf school made it look so easy. It was fun and thrilling at the same time. Never thought I would be doing that. Glad I did. I would definitely recommend them.||||A special thanks to Efren, Veronica & Rafael for making my stay and bday very pleasant!||||The fact that most locals in the DR do not speak proper English is a minor point. The minor things at the accommodation itself were being handled like a pro so no real issues there. Just ask what you need and they will do their best to make it as comfortable as possible. Remember that it is not possible to pay with (credit) card at this accommodation. Most things in the DR can be paid in pesos and USD....

My wife and I recently stayed here and were fairly disappointed. Maybe our expectations were too high after reading many good reviews before booking a night here. The main guy who works here seemed friendly but we had some interactions with him that just didn't seem right.||||We had dropped our bags off in the afternoon and they told us a room wasn't ready (which was fine and expected around 11am) but they had stated a room would be cleaned up soon and they would move our bags there when it was ready. We arrived 8 or so hours later, and our bags were still safe in the shared room, but there was no staff on site and no room open for us. We sent a message to the worker we had met earlier, and he arrived shortly and put us in a room that wasn't quite ready and then took off again without even leaving us the keys. We had to wait almost 2 hours before we got the keys to our room. The bathroom in the room smelled horribly (they hung a car air freshener on the wall to try and mask the smell which didn't really work!). There was also a huge hole in the ceiling, not a big deal in and of itself but when you're paying 80 bucks a night you'd kind of expect more. Lastly, you have to pay in cash here, which we did but the worker didn't have change. He stated he'd give us change tomorrow before we leave. We had to send him multiple messages which he ignored and then personally ask him and he acted like he had forgotten about giving us our change back. He finally did give it to us minutes before we had to leave for the airport.||||Aside from the negatives, the grounds of this hotel were immaculately kept and the section of beach was very pretty. It's definitely in a good location.||||Finally, if you're looking for this place - it is inside the grounds of playa turquesa hotel/resort. You won't find it using google maps. You have to go in through the playa turquesa security checkpoint. Tell the worker you have a reservation and he'll have to verify it in his system before letting you through. After crossing the security, just go to the main office and tell them you have a reservation...
