We went for new years eve dinner. They had advertised a 3 course meal for $75 and i have to say we were very excited to have a night out together especially on NYE...... well that excitement was quickly put to a end. The lobster and mango cakes were way over cooked, and just deep fried puddles of grease! I have never seen such a sad excause of a ribeye steak in all my life, it was a quarter inch think slab of grissel way over cooked again, and it shared the plate with the oldest toughest peas they could find.
Then they did not even have the jumbo shipped they advertised for NYE dinner. The prosciutto wrapped chicken breast.... was burnt prosciutto and chicken that was so over cooked and dried out we could not even chew it! The Salmon.... well all I am going to say is WHY, WHY would you sell Salmon when you are on a island in the Caribbean????? I have no idea what wine they sell there but it was they worst and cheapest quality I have ever had! Then was desserts omg where to start, baked apple that was like eating baby food, but it was served with freezer burnt ice cream covered with a layer of ice, and homemade burnt butterscotch...... I would not have served that to a dog. The Panna cotta was so blah and tasted as if it was a very poor quality mass produced item you buy at a chain store. Not a single one of us finished what was on our plate and when we left we ended up going and home and eating again. I am sorry but as bad as the quality of ingredients were, this whole dinner was cooked by someone who had no business in a kitchen! I am a chef of 30 years and own a number of my own restaurants in USA, France and Italy, and this meal was a disgrace and if I was the OWNER or the "CHEF" I would have been absolutely humiliated by what I served! I guarantee that any positive reviews on this place were made by the owner or their friends. The saddest part of the whole thing was what they charged for dinner, it should be a crime. Our group even had to listen to the people at other tables all talk amongst them self about how bad everything was and even had one couple ask us if ours was as bad...
Read moreMy fiancée and I were suggested to this place by someone we met recently. Everything we ordered was as it was ordered from the menu, meaning that we didn’t ask for any special accommodations to our food. The place is supposedly Cajun, but when we ordered Cajun fries, it was simply regular with salt. We asked the server if it was Cajun and he said it is. The Cajun shrimp pasta wasn’t spicy at all and it was bland instead. We had to ask for hot sauce and pepper to make it spicy ourselves, but it wasn’t enough. The lobster roll hardly had any lobster and had too much mayo which masks the flavor. It wasn’t anything special. This place is better for people that prefer anything bland. At the end of our meal the server told us that we should’ve asked for it to have extra spice…but why ask for food that should already be spicy to be spicy? The price is not worth the quality of food you’ll get from here. The only good item was the Caesar salad, but it was the kind that you would get from the U.S. On top of that, the server told us it would be 70 usd (3,811 Dominican Pesos), but when we calculated the conversion rate, it was actually 60 usd. Overall, we’re not coming back here and would highly not recommend anyone to come here, even for a free meal. Side note: It’s not on the beach, it’s where the...
Read moreWell went and ate.. been a while since I've had some American comfort food. Omg it did not disappoint. So I started with the hush puppies and cup of the seafood gumbo. The hush puppies were to perfection. Oh and the gumbo.. in the past I've had it and looks like soup until you dip your spoon. Not here. Brought to the table. I could tell right away this was different. You could see the shrimp and langostino sticking out the broth there was so much meat. And tasted amazing with the proper amount of spiced heat to it as to not take away and leave you dripping in sweat. .Then ordered the pan seared grouper and Southern comfort chocolate pie. The chocolate pie was rich but not overly. Just enough richness. And delivered still warm. With icecream and chocolate sauce.. oh it was amazing.. then the grouper showed up. The taste and presentation on this was on point. The cherry tomatoes and potatoes with with the sauce drizzled over. Nothing was left. Everything was better than any expectation I had..
I am truly surprised that there is not a waiting list or a lineup to get in here.. Michelin quality just blown away. A must go to spot..
Thank you to the owners Michael & Sylvia for taking the time to...
