Sea Breeze — Hotel in La Hispaniola

This hotel is very well located in the city center for nightlife, with everything at a walking distance. The staff is not very welcoming even though they try to be professional. I was told at check-in that my room was the best in the hotel. However I was shocked to see how basic it was. The bathroom has old, not so clean and defective shower fixtures, this needs to be taken care of urgently. There was hair all over the bathroom from previous guest and the bathroom floor mat was filthy. The room has a desk but no chair, the room has no iron or ironing board. In summary, In summary: 1) Desk with no table 2) No ironing board or iron 3) Refrigerator too small difficult to control the temperature 3) Could have next to it a counter with microwave 5) Bathroom fixture old from another age and malfunctioning. In conclusion, the place failed my standards but i think the owner should take care of these issues. I will not share photos of the rooms because i am convinced that the COVID pandemic has taken its toll on the Tourist economy and hotel may have suffered the consequences of the lengthy shut down. This is by far the best hotel in Sosua. It is the Cleanest, with the best staff. I laugh at the people paying 60.00 a night for this 3 star hotel, and complain on here it is not a 5 star hotel, go pay the 1,000.00 a night to get a 5 star cheapskate. I have been coming here for 35 years 4 times a year. This hidden gem is close to EVERYTHING, walking distance. The rooms are the cleanest. The beer is the coldest. The food is the best, (yes way better than the mindless that eat at Bailey's), hahahaha. And, For value their rooms are the lowest price. You are treated like family here. Try it just once. Welcome to your new home away from home. The security at night is incredible. You are safe and secure here. The father back you go in the hotel the quieter it is. Book early if possible, this hidden gem is being discovered by many travelers and can completely book - up especially over the week-ends. See you soon...

Not sure how this dump gets 4 or 5 stars...in the states they would be lucky to get 20 bucks a night and they get 40 plus !!😱...apparently the standards on really low for their guests. In need of major renovation, thin uncomfortable mattress, no blanket, nasty bathroom, furniture falling apart, struggling to open patio glass door.Wished I had something good to say but I don't...well the outside has a great paint job, in fact the BEST I can say is the outside appearance. Spend 5 bucks more or 10 to get a decent place, as I said it's not worth 20 bucks a night. After just one night I checked out, at LEAST at owner was nice enough to refund my other 15 days. But I suggest he would never spend 15 days inside his own hotel !! Must treat customers on vacation with something better than...
