Stayed here for a few nights as part of a group holiday. Rooms are a little varied and as a result my views are too.|First room was 205 - this had no outside or internal windows apart from a glass pane in the door and consequently was somewhat dark. It’s also directly over the reception desk, so you hear everyone coming and going - woken one morning by a noisy group convening before a 6am departure. Bathroom very small but functional. Biggest gripe was we only found 1 double socket in the room which was partly behind a bed, so this made charging phones etc difficult.|On our return to the hotel we were allocated room 101 - what a difference. This is an internally facing room but overlooking the small lounge area and nice and bright. 2 bedrooms in here as presume this is a family room. Bathroom much better with a powerful shower. Lots of plug points.|Our last room on our final check in was 210, at the front overlooking the road. Glorious 2 double beds and a small balcony. Again the bathroom here was very small.|The hotel itself is in a very good location for the old city area. Staff are very friendly.|Breakfast is plentiful and buffet style with fresh fruit, cereal/granola, yoghurt, scrambled eggs, mushrooms, brown/white bread, tea, coffee, hot chocolate - you will not go away hungry.|Lounge area has free tea/coffee and biscuits available (although no milk) and a water dispenser. They also supply 2 free bottles of water in the rooms each day.|Free Wi-fi which by ecuadorian...
Read moreWe were a party of 7 with three rooms at this hotel. It has many things to recommend it: great location, nice breakfast with beautiful view of Quito, interesting architecture and decoration, nice rooms. The man who checked us in was helpful and pleasant. Here is the caveat: we had arrived in two taxis from the airport. Worked fine and cost $50 total. ( It took over an hour in traffic.) Heeding the sign at reception to book return taxis early, we asked them to book two taxis. The person at reception (different person from before) more or less insisted that we take a van (due to luggage?) for $20 more. Was going to charge us 5$ extra each for the taxis but then knocked 10$ off the van and sort of insisted we take it. You can’t really stand on the street with seven people and luggage and hail two cabs, so we went in the van. He took the money so we have no idea how much the driver got. We rode in an 8-person van with 10 people and luggage because the hotel booked someone else and the driver came with a friend/helper. Did not feel safe and we...
Read moreThis place has a nice Italian style theme with a lounge that has computers, and couches and antique items on display. And the best part is the free breakfast, is on stop floor, with a beautiful view of Quito and has an open air ceiling and skylights that allows fresh air to circulate and the sun light illuminate the place. Every one of the staff are super friendly and helpful. Three blocks in either direction of the hotel and you can find greats eats. And a church that can accommodate the entire community, if you need get some cash, the international bank is right across the street. The rooms in the hotel are really comfy, I don't recall an air conditioner or heater. The bathrooms are upgraded. And the room s are modernized but not the point where you feel like you are living in the future. A great place, I stayed there on two different occasions. I will continue to book rooms there if I'm...
