Pros:
Comfiest beds I've had in the 3 weeks of being in ecuador, feels like my own sheets at home! huge rooms, amazing views out the window of the Statue beautiful deck, main lounge, outside patio, kitchen, etc, very Colonial true to the name. hot water 24/7, great flow Super kind staff rooms have a dresser, table, tons of space and my God big French windows that opened. great location rooftop has chairs and shower if you workout there. Free water that is accessible 24-7 (some places lock the kitchen access at night!)
Cons:
No heat (though common in Ecuador), plenty of blankets come w the room! We were never cold.
Horrible soundproof, you can hear any little noise and the room are literally separated by a thin piece of wood in some areas. We like our quiet and were lucky to book in low season, but the noise would be terrible if busy. Doors slam open and close, can't get away with it due to their designs. Other guests are respdctul and are in bed early and up early but if you're be to some loud guests or "loving" guests, you're gonna hear every word ;)
Buzzer to get in, and to get out (during the day you can get out by yourself but at night both doors are locked. Staff super fast at answering though

Located right at the bottom 'la Ronda', which is where you will find plenty of cafes and restaurants, it is still only a 10-15 minute walk to see most of the other sights in the old town. Only a $3-4 taxi to marsical and $15 for taxi to/from (& an hours wait) the cable car, which takes you high above the city for panoramic views and a nice trek.|There is a small shop next door for water, etc, although posada also sell some items.|We did not have their breakfast, though it was only $2.50 per person and most of the places we ate breakfast at were very similar, so I'd guess that it was of a similar standard but $1-5 cheaper at the hotel depending on where you go.|The room was small, but exactly want we needed; double bed, table, room to move about and a very small ensuite.|If in Quito again I...
Read moreWe stayed for four nights at La Posada and it was fine for what we wanted and a cheap price for a double room with shared bathroom. ||||The location is really good, easy to talk through the old town as well as La Ronda.||||We did have the breakfast there two days, the first day was pretty good but the second day pretty average - they just kind of whip up a small plate of eggs for you when you ask but act as though it is a bit of a hassle.... the coffee was hot one day and cold the next. Our advice is definitely just walk up the street and there are plenty of great bakeries for less cost and a huge selection.||||Unfortunately, we had an awkward moment which is why the 3 stars instead of 4 - we originally booked for two nights but wanted to stay an extra two, which the staff on duty said was fine, checked the diary etc etc. Then, on the second last day, a different staff member tried to tell us we had to leave that day in quite a blunt manner, we had to repeatedly say that we had been given confirmation that it was okay to stay the extra nights and eventually he relented, but still not a great situation!||||Overall, would still stay here again because of the location and the...
