Le Fabrique sits at a street near the centre, only 15 minutes walking from Parque Abdon Calderón. Franco, the host, welcomed us to the hostel, a historic building that showed the thought and work that he put into it's refurbishment.
Franco showed us to our room, which was spacious, very well equipped with a kitchenette, a huge bed and a reading corner at the window. The bathroom was very tastefully furnished and clean.
Despite its central location, the Hostel is quiet, with three patios offering places to sit down and relax - Which we did, as Franco served us biscuits and some coffee, which he is rightfully very proud of. Breakfast was always freshly prepared, slightly different every day and always delicious, it's surreptitious highlight being the bread.
Any inquiries you have, from good restaurants (I recommend the Venezuelan one next door as well as El Capitán East of the centre) to worthwhile tours, Franco will be able to advise.

Read moreDisclaimer: I'm a semi-professional skeptic. How can a place like this consistently have such great reviews? Even the people who didn't rate this a "5" I think meant to as their comments are all positive.
This place is the Real Deal. Immaculate. Quiet. Convenient. Spacious. Very nicely decorated. Ridiculously inexpensive for what they offer. There is even a small very nicely appointed kitchenette if you are so inclined. They did not cut corners on the remodel - everything is done extremely well ... tile work, plumbing, electrical, plaster, paint, masonry, hardware, appliances, etc.
Franco and his wife are the ultimate hosts. Their communication responses are timely, complete, and clear. My only complaint? That we didn't book more time here. This is a relatively newly renovated and small place (post-COVID). I think that once word gets out on this hidden gem, it may be difficult...
