THIEFS!!!
Stayed on a Friday-Sunday.(May 2015).
Went in on friday night with a white FIBECCA Bag that had my $250 Ray-bands, some medication and some receipts. After i went in the room with my girlfriend, we went out to dinner and i wasnt going to sleep at the MC so my girl told me to leave the bag since im coming the next day. So i left it inside the room on friday.
The next day Saturday i went back at night to wait for my girl to come out of work, saw that the bed was made and that my gold (small suitcase) wallet was at the table since i forgot i left it on the bed.. I took it and left the room without even noticing that the BAG WAS NOT THERE!.. So i left went to dinner and slept over my friends house, since my luggage was there and i was leaving to the USA the next day (sunday).
Now sunday came and i went to close out my room and give the key, i went back upstairs to get my white bag but more importantly to get my Ray-Bans since it was sunny and i always had them on during the day.. When i go in im looking all over and now im disoriented because i swore i left them on top of the table.. My girl was with me that sunday because she was dropping me off in the airport and reconfirmed that i indeed left the bag on the table and we never took it out the room. Now im pissed, because the only person that went in and out besides me and my girl was the cleaner..
I went in and told the counter lady what happen and she sent one of the staff members to go check , and nothing was found .. i told her check the cameras , since you guys have 2+ cameras especially one as soon as you go up the stairs. she said thats she is unable to do that because of her restriction level. I was like my plane is leaving in an hour or so, i will give you MY CONTACT and also my GIRLFRIEND CONTACT so you can communicate with any of us especiall my girl since she leaves in Guayaquil..
So that was May and as soon i came back i gave it 2 days and called , they told me some BS there, so i kept calling and calling .. Always telling me that the manager knows etc Then they tell me that i NEVER WALKED in with a white bag.... when they said that I FLIPPED! because now theyre calling me a liar, and protecting their corrupted cleaner!
so its SEPTEMBER NOW, and i finally got a hold of the "manager" BLENDA GILER (something like that) whose there from 10am -5pm .. she hung up the phone on me 3 times, and let the phone right more than 4 times before picking up and acting like she couldnt hear me.. last thing she said is that the cleaner is a trustworthy guy and he never came out with a white bag,... i was like "if i robbed a bank will i come out with all the money in my hands? NO!, so obviously he maybe threw the bag in the garbage either for two reasons, 1. he though nothing was there and cleaned up (WHICH IS STILL WRONG! IF ITS A GUEST BELONGING THEN LEAVE IT THERE NO MATTER WHAT !) or 2. he saw it was a nice looking pair of glasses and threw it in the "trash bag" and walked out with it ..
So i told BLENDA to search the camera and to check if I EVER came out with the white bag, glasses, or any belongings ... she didint respond .. so then i asked her how about the cleaner did he came out with anything , she said yes the trash bag etc .. so i was like if i came in with something and never came out with anything , that means the bag is still in the room right ? then if the cleaner guy comes out with a bag , and then i report my bag missing and i never had any belongings besides that bag ..what would all of this point too?? its not rocket science man, we are all humans and i dont care how trustworthy you are, theres always a first time for everything.. And im effing PISSED that they can just ignore me all they want and then state that theyt cant go back and check the cameras since its deleted.. this is some BS...
The least they could do is comp me the equivalent of what got stolen, but they dont want to look bad and say that one of there staff members is a thief, so its ok things happen and...
Read moreSince my previous review of Feb 2013, I have stayed twice, March and May of 2013, for a total of 11 nights. This is my favorite hotel in Guayaquil and I wouldn't stay anywhere else. It's new and nicely designed, a couple of blocks from the Hilton Colon.||||The entire staff are VERY nice and seem to work together like a big family. If you stay 24 hours you will know them all (but they are not nosy or intrusive).||||The hotel is fairly close to the airport, and you can walk to a little shopping center with two nice, reasonably priced restaurants (Cocolon and a crab place, forgot the name) and a "Pharmacy" brand drug store which is like the CVS of Ecuador. A little further up but also walkable is a McDonald's and the San Marino Mall which is nicer and newer (but smaller) than Mall del Sol. (My previous review states that there isn't much to walk to from the hotel but I was mistaken).||||Taxi service has improved greatly from my last review. Reception will call and a safe reliable taxi shows up in a couple of minutes. They come from one of several car service companies so the cars are grey or black or red and much nicer, newer and cleaner than the yellow taxis which roam around town. Good prices, too. The driver will always give you his number and offer to bring you back to the hotel when you're ready.||||Prices have gone up a little since my last review but are still very reasonable.||||Here is a useful tip: To get to the hotel, tell your taxi driver that it's behind S.R.I. ("detras SRI"). S.R.I. is the Ecuadorian I.R.S., and everyone knows where it is. Otherwise, the driver may not know exactly where it is because It's new and small and kind of hidden one block off the main road where...
Read moreWe visited Guayaquil on our way to Galápagos Islands and need to sleep one night. This was the best ratting/ cost hotel near the airport we found in booking. It was a bit disappointing to find that the room (103) had only a very small window, the sink in the bathroom was cluttered, the furniture was run down, the bed was very wide but very short. |On the positivity note the staff was very attentive and breakfast that was included had all the basics, such as scrambled eggs, toast, jam,...
