Salt & Pepper — Restaurant in Guayaquil

I ate here once before, and the food is good. The second time we went to eat, I ordered a sandwich and a salad, and a drink. My wife and daughter ordered some chicken. The chef took our order and started making our food.

We went to pay, we noticed the bill was high. I pointed out to my wife in English that it was $3.05 to add fries or salad and a soda to the sandwich but we were being charged full price for each. She explained to the woman at the register and she did not seem to know about that pricing. However she then said that was not applicable for my salad, and I could only get a 7 UP, not a diet Coke.

I said I didn't see these restrictions mentioned on the sign. I believe she just wanted to show her authority for some reason. The sign just said fries, or salad and soda add $3.05.

Rather than argue with the customer how about clarification on your menu? For a Hilton it was like speaking to someone at McDonald's.

Maybe it was because she heard me speaking English??
