Very below standards. Many many issues. Restaurant at the hotel was terrible, chicken was served partially raw and had to be sent back, a basic club sandwich was terrible. Te waiter was kind, but extremely slow. We were a party of 10, and the meals for each 2 people was served about 10 minutes apart. It seemed like the kitchen had only 1 stove top to cook. We were all at the same table, order together but we were served in a window of 40 minutes. Not to mention that they brought salads out, that were ordered as appetizer at desert time. The hallways need new carpet and there are clear signs of wall paper with humidity/mold. The room that we booked said 2 QUEEN Beds on the executive floor, they were clearly not queen but full size beds. We had friends in the same hotel, and it happened to them exactly the same (reserved 2 queen and got 2 ful). I believe they say they are queen but actually full size beds. The rooms had a bit of smell of humidity, but were in much better condition then the hallway, at least they seemed clean and bathroom seemed to be updated. And to top it all off, when checking out at 6 am to catch our flight, my wife saw 2 roaches in the lobby. This is far from a 5 star hotel. I've traveled all over the world and stayed in above 5 star hotels and in basic motels. This should not carry the Hilton name, it is clearly deceptive. Good thing, they pickup at the airport and have a shuttle every hour back to the airport with kind employee/driver. Employees over all were nice, but the terrible food, terrible maintenance to common areas and offering queen beds when they are full size is extremely below standards. Read moreSad place. Don’t bother. We booked for one night after a Galapagos trip because we couldn’t get a connection out until the next day. We chose it because of its proximity to the airport and our tour agency, Metropolitan Tours, recommended it as a place from which they would pick us up. It wasnt the cheapest but its a Hilton and I am a Hilton Honors member paying with Amex platinum. How bad could it be, right? Well, upon arrival and registration I asked if there was an upgrade available. No. But for $45 more wouldn’t I like to add breakfast. No. And for $45 more (each) we could attend the show that night. Well, the room was clean. We did find two glasses and 2 half liter bottles of water. ( water in Guayaquil is not drinking water). The cleaning person we found on the floor was happy to give us more water upon request. Upon arrival we called the front desk for an extra pillow and extra water. We never received either. We went to the concierge desk for a map and a suggestion for a restaurant for dinner. We asked if he knew of a restaurant that served the renowned local soup. ( Encebollado ) Oh yes, he said. He sent us to a restaurant on the opposite end of the malecon which did not have this soup at all. Ever, according to the waiter. We were encouraged to use the taxis at the hotel for safety. The taxi overcharged us for the ride. The bed was uncomfortable, the mattress was old and shifted under us with the slightest motion. The windows were old and the noise of the traffic was quite loud. But, hey, there was a free hourly (on the hour ) shuttle to the airport ( 8 minutes away ), which, btw left early as soon as the Avianca...

Rooms The room was very large and spacious with 2 queen beds. The room felt light and airy, welcoming and fresh. There's a nice size closet with 2 luggage holders and another area that included a safe. The bathroom is also very large with separate areas for hand washing and showering. Many places inside the bathroom to hang wet bathing suits, towels and anything else you'd need to hang. There's several lights/lamps that provide ample lighting. We had a room facing the main road and it was a nice view. There's a chair and desk for any work that may need to be done. There's also a chair for relaxing and reading a good book.
Spa/Gym There's an amazing spa at the hotel that offers various options for massage and other spa like amenities. There's a small cold plunge area and a hot tub with jets. There's a huge room to change with multiple lockers and bathrooms available. I had a Russian massage and it was divine.
Pool The pool area is quite large. The water was warm, and although I'm not a fan of that, it was easy to acclimate myself once you're in there for a bit, and it wasn't as noticeable. The pool has a swim up bar area, which is very convenient. Many chairs to relax in and the area is well kept. The hotel provides towels for swimming so no need to bring your own.
Food/restaurants There are several restaurants in the property that are reasonably priced. A sushi spot that also serves items like rice bowls, Ramen and other foods in case you're not a sushi eater. There's also a steak house...
