Hostal Muros Plaza — Hotel in Iñaquito

Not sure where the positive reviews are coming from, but I am a real traveler with real (and recent) pictures, and reasonable expectations for a 3-star hotel. My advice? Stay away. We were booked here for two nights as part of a Tripmasters package. We had a late arrival, the hotel looked fine from the inside. Once inside, we were greeted cheerfully by a young overnight reception clerk who checked us in and took us to our room. It was downhill from there. We were given room 5, which was dark, dank, and dated.  Our main concern however was the bathroom window which was open to the outside and could not be secured. ||Upon request, we were moved to another room upstairs (which is where I took the many pictures in this review). Apart from the moldy carpets, cheap flat mattress, and broken closet door handles etc.  There was potentially dangerous piping hanging from the drop ceiling, old frayed towels, a toilet tank covered in chipped wood-grain contact paper, no hot water in the sink, and the overall temperature of the room was uncomfortably cold. Despite the fact that we'd booked a pre paid package, we only managed to spend what was left of the night there, before checking out ( at additional expense) as early as possible the...

Stayed at Hostal Muros for about a week... but it was enough to realize and appreciate the excellent value and service. The owners are always on-site to assist guests and provide some additional services very much needed and appreciated by travelers for a very small fee, i.e. on-site wash & fold laundry, airport pick-up & drop, etc. BTW, a great breakfast is included! Located at what is perhaps the best neighborhood in Quito, safe, grocery stores and many good restaurants a short walk or cab ride away....

Tenía una reservación hecha con tiempo, mencioné que llegaba en la mañana, a lo que ellos aceptaron. Viajaba desde lejos, a lo que llegue al hotel el recepcionista no sabía de ninguna reservación, después de llamar varias veces, me supieron decir que si estaba la reservación pero no tenían disponibilidad de ninguna habitación, que no me podían recibir. Me dijeron que podía dejar la maleta hasta las 3 pm que tenían una habitación. Fácil para ustedes decir que dejé las maletas y regrese. A donde voy a ir en una ciudad que no conozco y que solo voy por situaciones de trabajo, estando sola. Abusar sería si llegara sin avisar la hora queriendo que me atiendan, cosa que nunca ha pasado, yo siempre he informado si es posible llegar a cierta hora y ustedes han aceptado. Si hubieran dicho que no me podían recibir a la hora que yo llegaba fácil buscaba otro lugar, porque yo siempre les he cancelado lo que me han pedido. Mejor hubieran quedando diciendo que se equivocaron en mi reservación y pidiéndome que me retire del lugar y vuelva varias horas después, que con palabras tan bajas. Una falta de respeto total.
