Very noisy restaurant done in the modern style considering entirely of flat planes of hard wood, metal, and glass. Nothing at all done to soften the acoustics mean it's a very echoey place. If you enjoying hearing a mix of every conversation in the dining room while simultaneously struggling to hear the people at your table, this place is for you. If not, seating outside or at the bar should alleviate this issue.
With only two servers working at dinner time service was slow despite their best efforts. Our food arrived looking like it had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. Despite that it was still pretty good.
I found the beer to be mostly average. Between us we had the honey ginger saison, the amber alt, the IPA, and the oatmeal stout. The amber alt and saison didn't seem true to type for me, more like a bland lager and flavorless golden ale respectively, but the Hop Rey IPA was great and the oatmeal stout was decent. One very nice point is that they charge by volume. Where some places might charge you $6 for a pint and $4.50 for a half pint, prices here are $3 for 300ml, $5 for 500ml, and $10 for a liter. While I didn't see a sampler listed on the menu the 300ml size is good for trying a few different beers, and it's nice to not be penalized on price for ordering a smaller beer.
I think with better service resulting in receiving hotter food, warm enough weather to allow you to sit outside and avoid the conversation symphony inside, and knowing which beers are worth ordering my experience here would have been much better. With only limited time in Quito though, I'll be checking out other beer...
Read moreworst service I’ve ever received. me and 3 of my friends waited 20 mins for someone to even take our order and by that I mean we literally had to flag someone down as no one was coming over. our order was very simple - 4 sangrias and 4 steaks. 20 mins later and still no drinks or food. someone then eventually came over with one steak so we ask about our drinks, and they said they will check, another waiter comes over and says we don’t have red wine for sangria so you can’t have it .. we couldn’t believe that after waiting for so long we had to ask about our drinks to be told that. we then ordered 2 IPAs and 2 sangrias with white wine and asked where the other 3 steaks are. 5 mins later 2 IPAs come and a few minutes later the rest of the steaks came, but no salads to go with them - we ask about that and had to wait another 10 mins for our salads to come which by this time point our steaks are cold, but still no sangrias. another 10-15 mins later, when we’re pretty much done with our food, the sangrias finally turn up and are nothing special - so no idea how or why they took so long. anyways, would not recommend as even though the food was really nice, you can definitely get just as nice food elsewhere and not have such terrible service. safe to say we did not...
Read moreWell, what can I say. I just discovered this spot. Craft beers can be found here. Five different flavors that will make you love the place. They come in two presentations; 300 ml and 500 ml. Fair price. Likewise, the food here is highly recommend. You get to encounter a variety of burgers, pizza, salads, meat... The prices are quite standard. Personally, I had the classic burger. However, I told the server to put caramelized onions. Gosh, it was so delicious. I wish more places here could serve burgers like that. In conclusion, go to this place and have a blast guys.
Sincerely; just...
