I visited the Minamark Beach Resort Hotel from 26/11-3/12. And in my honest opinion, i dont know why so many people are harsh and have bad feelings toward it, but, i will start with the Negatives first just to get them out way as i feel they need to be mentioned. I was booked into the standard economy room, and Holy hell, are the Bathrooms bad. The water from the taps come out way too pressurised that its extremely difficult to use, and then the showers and bath taps have absolutely no pressure behind them what so ever. The water only trickles out so showering is unpleasant, and filling the bath up will take up to 1 hr and a half. at least the water gets hot though. Theirs grout on the walls, the door handles are worn, and falling off, and everything is really outdated. The bed was solid to sleep in as well. Trying to catch sleep as well takes getting used to and the windows and walls ARE NOT sound proof, the Egyptian economy does not rest until at least 3am. So you'll hear all the traffic and town music, and horns blaring all night and morning. Another negative, if you need Internet, it is only available in the Foyer free of charge but is real slow, 513kbs per second to be exact. And if you can tolerate that real slow speed, acquiring the same internet in your room costs extra. I also did not like how the Tour Operators tried to treat me, the leader was very pushy and insistent that i buy a safari and snorkelling tour, and was e adamant that i pay upfront or within 20 minutes or else ive wasted his time. i do not respond to pushy salesmen like that...EVER. Those are the negatives out the way, now the positives. The staff, through out the resort are exceptional (except the above i mentioned), my transfer company forgot all about me on my departure day and two people really put me at ease, Bob is really helpful and happy to arrange taxis and transfers for you when it shouldn't be his job really, and Marzook has exceptional driving skills and loves to please, they both made me feel cared for and like everything was ok. Everybody is really helpful and deserve a pay rise especially the young Reception manager who has only recently started. One occasion he was being yelled and and sworn at by a Polish foreigner, and how he kept his cool and remained polite i have no idea, give him a bloody medal! They are under alot of pressure from foreigners. One young lad was great at attending unto my room and always made sure it at least had two water bottles the bed was made well and i always had soap. Shokran. The actual decor and presentation of the place, are the opposite to the rooms, it is very well maintained and pleasing to the eye....ESPECIALLY THE FOOD! as long as you book all inclusive, you will not go hungry, no they dont serve traditional burgers and chips, but everything they serve is worth trying, nothing is spicy, and everything tastes great actually. Romany Ezzat does a great job managing the kitchen, and the Waiting staff smile all the time and dont badger you like the people on the street, they are all attentive onto your needs, whatever you need, they'll always happily ablidge you, and can i mention the actual hotel manager(i dont know his name). He was exceptional at handling my late dinner needs, sometimes i would arrive late from excursions, and as long as he is given enough notice, they always provide late dinner, even when its just you that eating! that is exceptional customer service and i felt special everyday. SHOKRAN! I never went hungry, and no i didn't once get food poisoning. The outside area is really nice, and the beach is great if not abit small, the entertainment team do a great job every night entertaining your kids, and even the adults. I had a right dance one night, i felt like i was in a club! So overall my experience of this hotel was great. and is worth the visit, the best part of the place are the staff, they are great. Thank you for having me.

Read moreI stayed 10 days in this hotel with my wife. For a start, 2/3 of hotels hallway is currently in renovation process, and what's left right now looks more like 3 stars. But it is acceptable. We booke a superior room. It's the room that they are showcasing in their youtube presentation, so I assume they don't have any better than that. And there is notthing superior about it. The furniture is prehistoric, and most of it does not function very well. Two beds were put together, to make a king size bed... And the top of the beds are on wheels... Every time you move, it goes around... Who ever did that, is not very smart. Room had a decent balcony, but it was too close to the restaurant, where they fire up barbacue twice a day, so all of the smoke and fire dust ends up on it. There was a refrigirator thats probably older than me, and it has never been cleaned. Not even from the outside... Everywhere around the room and furniture there was a paint resedue from when the room was last painted, they never cleaned that. The bathroom was the worst part. Every tile in it was dirty from renovation, they did not even remove the dust from them or the tiles glue, its all over the place... Who knows how long it sits there. Water pressure in the shower was impossible to use, it is barely dripping water, you need an hour to take a shower. When I complained about it on the reception, they said that it is what it is. Whenever you run the water in the shower or in the sink, the pipes get stuck and water comes out leaking in the middle of the bathroom on the central pipe hole. The whole bathroom gets flooded.
Our bedsheets and towels were never replaced, during all 10 days there. Even though I left tips regulary to the room cleaning guy. He just wipes the floor on half of the room, makes the bed, packs the dirty towels on the shelf, and leaves.
Restaurant was small and old, all of the tables are loose, you have to hold them with your foot just so you dont spill your food. It is very crowded, even there are covid19 restrictions now... Its allways full of egyptian families of 6+ people, sitting on tables that should sit maximum of 4 persons. Food was the same every day. Sweets as well, they just change the couloer of the glazing. But its essentially the same every day. The beach is small and dirty. Egyptian families dont really clean after themselves, so there is always food, drings and cigarettes left behind them. And the stuff doesnt really care about it. The guys on the beach bar are awfull, they always look at you like they want to kill you. Very rude and unpleasant. They thow you drinks on the counter like they give it to an animal.
The pool is small and looks like they've put it there just so they can say that they have a pool.
The hotel is not really ready for any foreign guests, they barely even speak any English, and they dont really care about anybody who is not Egyptian. They are always helping out and talking to their own people and they dont even wanna look at you if your not Arab. Ofcourse, there is a small orocentage of people that work here and that tried to accommodate us as much as possible and make us comfortable. And they are the ones who deserve tips all the time, and the ones who are trying to make this hotel good. Special thanks to Sefen, server from the restaurant, one of the nicest guys I have met during my stay. But there is a lot more of the ones that really dont care.
More than half of the guests are Arab families, and as I said, I think thay are not ready for any foreign guests at all. So I dont recommend this hotel at all.
The location of a hotel is good if you want to go areound the city and shop. But if you want to relax, it is the worst place ever. Streets are full of shops with very persistant and most of the times rude owners.
I can write for hours on what is wrong here, but that will not change anything. And I still hope that some good people that work here can...
Read moreI was dreading this holiday as we booked it without looking in to Egypt and hurghada before hand. I then came on here and read some pretty bad reviews, also noticed that this hotel doesn’t seem to have a lot of English speaking guests from the reviews so was worrying about the language barrier. Well I shouldn’t have worried because every single person we met at Minamark, guests and staff were all lovely and totally put us to shame as everyone spoke such good English, it’s embarrassing really that we don’t speak enough different languages! Now onto the review! |Briefly I’d like to say about the airport and taxi to the hotel. I downloaded the inDrive app after it being recommended on some groups I follow on fb. The price was 62egp and I only had 150egp on me till I got to the atm. Straight away the taxi driver said it’ll be 600 and I thought oh here we go. He got 150 |When we arrived at the hotel immediately upon arrival the reception. Staff greeted us with smiles and told us we could make dinner if we were quick! A lovely man called Hani showed us to our room overlooking the pool and every day after that he said hello with a smile. |We just made dinner which was great. We watched from the balcony later that night as a lady tried to take a plate of food from the late arrivals dinner and staff took it off her. So they are strict with not allowing you to take food outside the restaurant. |Our cleaner was such a lovely wee guy and he had our room spotless every time he cleaned. We also made a point of giving him a tip every now and then which he appreciated. Pic below.|There were so many bar tenders to name but who stood out the most for us was Mohammed the pool bar and Assim (I hope i spelt that right) who worked between the pool and the restaurant . Always greeted with a smile and they always remember what you drank! We also tipped these guys daily as they work hard! |The lifeguard at the main pool always looked after us, making sure I was in the shade haha|The man at the very front in the red shirt by the door, sorry I can’t remember his name, helped us out a few times to break our notes in to smaller change which was very appreciated! And last but not least by any means Wissam! Manager of the Ora bar at the bowl and his bar tenders looked after us so well on the two special nights we payed for a special menu, food and cocktails were amazing and Wissam really looked after us any time we were in Ora! Especially our last day before heading to the airport where I was feeling a bit ill (nothing to do with the hotel we had eaten across the road in another restaurant the night before) |Starbucks in the hotel too! The guy who worked between here and Ora made sure he made my double shot Frappuccino right and had us in stitches in the bar. I could go on and on because all staff were so lovely. Also Baha in the sea bride restaurant! |The only negatives I would say is the constant bombardment from staff trying to sell massage and trips. If you say no it should mean no, I know it’s their job but it did spoil it a bit. |Food in the restaurant was always lovely, no Egypt belly at all at Minamark Hotel! The only time we felt a bit ill was after eating across the road at styles bar. |Also if you go out to the atm be aware that there’s a guy standing there in a suit who snatched our bank card off us put it in the machine and tried to look o er my shoulder when I got the money out and passed it to my hubby then followed us with his hand out saying tip tip tip in Egyptian! When looked the next day he was standing there again waiting for another victim |So all in all I would recommend Minamark hotel and can truly say we had a...
