This will be a long review but will be completely honest and very detailed.|Check in|Our private transfer dropped us outside the “Old Seagull” and upon entry it can only be described as organised chaos. The receptionist told us to go get dinner as it was now 8:30 so we went down to dinner and under no circumstances would I eat in the cleopatra restaurant, it was absolutely disgusting with food spilled everywhere and a manager just standing there giving no instruction to staff to clean up food areas, what this person is getting paid for is beyond my comprehension.|We went back to reception and he gave us our room key for room 537 and when we entered we were shocked to see a broken temperature gauge, dirt and grime in the shower and an altogether dilapidated room which needed a complete renovation. No way were we staying there so I went to reception to tell them the room was unacceptable and in no way resembles what I booked, he told me he had another room available and when we went in there it said just married on the pillows and there was balloons everywhere so obviously not staying there|Back to reception again and he now informs me that he has a newly renovated hotel just down the road and we could go there if we like|It’s now 2 hours later so down we went in the heat to the “New Seagull” and hey presto the hotel was spotlessly clean, the room was modern, great balcony, amenities perfect and now our holiday was about to begin|WiFi |WiFi is free at the beach but chargeable for everywhere else in the hotel. The receptionist at the old seagull gave me free WiFi for the week for 2 devices which came in very handy and was appreciated |Food|Nefertiti |Breakfast was repetitive, fried eggs omelette, crepes, french toast etc and choice was okay. Dinner had burgers beef in gravy, chicken, with bbq food outside and all different selections of meats on display and large selection of desserts.Lunch was served down at the beach and had a choice of Indian, chineses, oriental, Italian and burgers and chips which was great. The restaurant manager in the Nerfifitti restaurant was super and was always seen to be busy and flying around keeping on top of everything. GREAT JOB TO HIM|Animation team|They are non existent in the new seagull only once per day did I see them when they asked to play water polo other than that they stay in the old seagull|Kids|There’s a mini zoo with all different types of slides and swings to play in. Also in old seagull there’s a kids pool with slides for kids to play in and also some bigger slides for us BIGGER KIDS which my wife made me go down lol|Pool|There’s several pools in the old old seagull on different levels and a kids pool and it caters for all swimming types non swimming and swimming and the same in the new seagull but there’s no slides in the new seagull so the new seagull is much quieter at the pool. Etak will talk to you everyday and is very friendly, even if you just want some peace and quiet time he greets you regardless everytime he sees you|Mahmood in the new seagull pool bar is excellent at his job and very friendly. He called me “big boss” and everytime I order a drink he said sit sit and he brought it down to us. He is a credit to the team.|My favourite member of staff was Ramadan in the main bar who always had a drink ready for us when we arrived without asking him and despite being very very busy. This man deserves a pay rise.|Room cleaners|The room cleaner was exceptional and left us some towel art and flowers, which was absolutely lovely and she always also made sure we were topped up with water as it was 50 degree heat which we were really not used to.|Check out|Check out was almost as bad as check in, you can’t keep your wristband unless you pay $10 per person, I’ve never seen this at a all inclusive hotel in all my life but it was okay I just paid it. I had a private transfer booked but the receptionist assured me that pick up would be at the new seagull but the transfer never arrived. 10 minutes afterwards I ran down to the old seagull in 40 degree heat to find my transfer driver waiting there for us. We almost missed our transfer because the driver told us that the receptionist at the old seagull said we were a no show and had never arrived for our holiday.|All in all it was a lovely holiday which for us was a babymoon as my wife is expecting our first child soon and this was a lovely relaxing break despite the heat.|One last thing I will say is the beaches are spectacular, the water is cool and refreshing on warm days and the areas are all keep very very clean especially at...
Read moreHello there! A guest from Serbia here! |I'll try to keep this review concise and to the point. |TLDR: I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel! I had an enjoyable stay and was really sad to do home and in the future I see myself coming back! ||First of all, we had a great time staying here! Lots of fun, sunshine, relaxation and enjoyment! This resort has it all! From an Aqua park to the Zoo! |Staff, animation team and employees: Amazing! Always smiling back, always positive, always attentive! These people where there morning, day and night and they still managed to greet me with a smile and positive attitude no matter when. Special shout-out to everyone who I encountered. Life guards as well! Legends! |Food and restaurants: |Hotel has multiple restaurants and each day is a different cuisine. Now, many say the food is repetitive, and yes it is, but what you gotta understand is that this is a restaurant and they have a set menu that they rotate. As of taste: main vibe that I got is neutral. Seams like tried and tested among hotel residents, and it was fine. They have to attend to everyone's palette and I think that is fine. There was something for everybody! In my opinion if you had a different thing every day, you still wouldn't be able to taste all the, both, savory and sweet stuff. Drinks were fine too, both alcoholic and nonalcoholic. Overall, not once were we unsatisfied of hungry during the course of our ten days here. |Atmosphere: |Amazing! For the whole stay I had a feeling like I was at home. The staff and animation really work hard on that and it didn't go unnoticed. The vibes are nice, the activities that animation organises every day, the overall energy of the place. I didn't catch myself sad or feeling down until the last day when it was time to go home. Big thanks to the Epic entertainers team for all the yoga, Zumba, gymnastics and shows they lead! |Cleanliness of the place: we had our room cleaned every day. Clean towels and sheets. No complaints there. The only down I would say about it is lots of thrash scattered around the resort. And for that I don't blame the staff and cleaning team, you can see that they work tirelessly and hard but they couldn't catch up with everything and the amount of people who where staying. I blame entitled guests who think it is okay for their garbage to end up wherever. The gardeners were there almost every single day, making sure the foliage looked tip-top! |In general, the only "bad" thing I have to say about the hotel are guests that were rude to the staff without any reason other than entitlement. And if you find yourself in this description, says more volume... Don't be disrespectful, say "Please" and "Thank you"! |Anyways...||An overall review is that if you're thinking of booking this place, DO IT! I am so glad that we stayed here! We had an amazing holiday and recharged our batteries! I recommend this for both families with kids, for grownup without children, even older people. There is something for everybody! I think the price for this place is totally justified for the amount of content you get. Not. A single. Regret.|Thank you Seagull! |See you...
Read moreThis is our second time here and we love almost everything. Hotel staff and room cleaners are really good at their job. Always kind and helpful to you. Food is also tasty and you can find almost everything what you want. Towels for the beach are always clean and fresh. Bar in the lobby works until late and for young people who hangout is good.
But but but... hotel policy is not same for all tourists. Some of you will feel less welcomed almost on every step in the hotel but not on the purpose.
To be precise. If you are from any other country then Russia, you will not feel so welcome as in other resorts in Hurgada. here is why:
On the beach is every day some nice dance program but except English ONLY you can hear Russian songs. On microphone they usually announce program only in Russian language (some time if we get happy they do it on English). So after 3 pm we get feeling like we don't belong here on this beach, we don't understand word, speakers and we all go slowly move to "quiet" beach...
If you walk near lobby you will see in hotel shops notice mainly in Russian language. That is also very nice gesture.
Except EGP, USD and EUR you are also welcomed to pay officially in the hotels lobby shop in Rubles and also you can directly to the Russian account of the seller in Sberbank without additional bank fees (card to card). Simply you have on the shop note on Russian language: "We receive payments in Rubles or to Sber card." But, to pay in Lei, Lev or dinars is not afcorse welcomed.
If you want to have karaoke night you can only enjoy only for a short time. After English songs are finished you have two choices or enjoy in Russian songs or go. You will not hear any other song even one song for guests who comes from any other country then Russia. Simply that is not welcomed.
Billiards if you want to enjoy with friends or family you must book before 21h, or you must be ready to enjoy listening... yes you guessed...
If on the beach you want to ask seller more info. about products (hiking, snoring, safari, massage)... you usually get all informations on English which is good, but if you ask for a flyer for more info, you can get it only on Russian language and that is again nice gesture also from the hotel.
Generally, I am very happy that Russian people enjoy welcomed in Seagull, and that is really nice gesture from Seagull resorts to you always have that "welcoming feeling", but all tourists should feel welcomed!
Afcorse majority ot the tourists is from Russia and we all have great time together, but here's also at the moment a lot of tourists from Romania, Latvia and especially form Serbia and if you want that same welcoming feeling consistently as Russians get, go to another resort! This is what we all guests from Serbia and Romania all agreed. Update: GR call us (Milica) to speak about recession and how they can improve things. They where very polite and they really try to understand this review. So today we listen all types of music and we all enjoy....
