Gomla has been told I can't give a positive review The staff seem to think they are doing customers a favour by serving them I had to wait for 2 female staff members to finish there conversation before I was served I told the manager to get the staff to say please and thank you and to smile at the customers It is also obvious that the prices have gone up a lot and there isn't the same choice of goods to buy Another update and yet again Gomla service has been appalling it feels like the staff think they are doing me a favour by eventually serving me after they have finished chatting to each other I wish we had another large supermarket near to where I live
I really sorry but I'm giving Gomla Market another rubbish update I went to Gomla and once i got home I checked my recipe and found a ridiculous price for some ant traps I was given a refund now for the crazy bit my shopping bill came out of my bank account the same day But the refund hasn't I've been back to Gomla and showed my bank statement according to Gomla it's going to take 2 weeks for the refund to go back into my bank account I couldn't get Gomla to understand if they get my money from my account the same day this should also apply to the refund being paid back into my bank account the same day Pleasantly surprised by my last visit to find several items had come down in price we need a lot more price reductions but it's a good start I was also able to get sugar for the first...
Read moreHERE'S THE TRUTH! : Positives - Great choices in this supermarket, prices very good, not too busy unless you go at peak times, they accept debit and credit card. Cakes are delicious and much cheaper than the chocolate shop and local patisseries. Staff keep busy always stocking up n on the move not like back in the UK where they're lazy. Negatives - I'm afraid to say it's the interaction with tourists...it's like they hate them, I always say hello to the 'security' lady at the entrance and smile but get nothing back...not even a nod of the head. The staff at the till are the same....I always say hello..please....Shukriya (thank you) and get no manners back. The ladies at the till don't even give me eye contact...what have we done that has upset you all so much? The staff are not moody amongst themselves as they smile and laugh amongst themselves...but they seem to have branded all tourist as not worth attention or below them because of their culture. It's a shame...because they are humble people with beautiful smiles...I would love someone to explain the negativity...
Read moreBig supermarket with everything you need but not all staff is friendly ☹️! I really like this supermarket in Egypt because it has everything you need, the prices are okay. What I didn't like was the lady from the counter where you can buy spices, rice, beans, pasta at grams/kg because I asked her to give me small portion of rice and other things there and was very annoyed and refused to serve me and asked a colleague of hers to help me. I don't need a kg of rice or hibiscus tea, soffran or quinoa I wanted only like 400 grams of rice, 200g quinoa. I also noticed that at the fruit/ vegetable counter that they don't like it if I take only small amounts of fruits and vegetables. I need only 1kg of oranges or half kg zucchini. I known that in Egypt everybody has big families but as a tourist couple with small studio accommodation you don't need to much stuff and also have no place to...
