Cairo Hotel — Hotel in Cairo

Wanted to share some input about Egypt’s airport terminals||||So in Cairo there are 3 terminals the int’l one, terminal 3 , terminal 1 and terminal 2.||||||Arrival in int’l 3 is a breeze. If you have your visa already prepaid the speed is fast for immigration. Not so much for departure more later on below.||||||Took domestic Egyptair to Luxor a few days later and that was a mess. Boarding pass said terminal 2 and we went through all the security checks metal detectors etc. only to be told Nile air flys out of terminal 2 only. Back to terminal 1 domestic. No luck ||||The departure screens are none existent.||||Finally made are way back to int’l terminal 3 for a domestic flight.||||So confusing. And the taxi drivers are taking good advantage of that!!!!||||There are 2 departure areas in terminal 3. Domestic and int’l . Security check for domestic is a 6 in us standards.||||What I don’t understand is why there are so many empty plane docking doors available and we had to take a bus on a runaway to our plane ??||||I guess Egyptair must be paying some kind of extra fees for docking.||||Departure terminal 3 for int’l is a different story. They are many security and bag checks throughout the airport.|||| First when you walk in. Second when you go through main security. Then ticket counter for bags checks. Then passport control, then visa control. Then finally another round of metal detectors at the main gate entrance to all gates.||||||Too...

Excellent value exceptional service. Was nervous staying in Cairo under the current political situation and it was nice to stay so close to the airport (within sight of the tower). Only had one meal (Syrian buffet) in the main dining room and it was very enjoyable. (I'm from small town NB Canada so cannot comment as to the authenticity of the Syrian cuisine but we really enjoyed it)||Staff at all levels were very helpful. Rooms were small but were just fine for a short stay....

We arrived at the airport to find out we misread our flight time on our boarding pass and therefore missed our flight which was noticed by the security at the front entrance. The manager came out and we explained to him it was our fault we missed our flight. They managed to offer a flight to us within the hour for only a difference of 200EGY each !!||We were very grateful for this! ||So thanks...
