Coffee time — Restaurant in Cairo

I had a good experience here overall. The service was friendly and the products were of good quality.

I ordered a smoothie and it was tasty and freshing, a freshly made brownie, an espresso (which could be improved; given that I'm a coffeeman) and a bottle of water plus the service, all for the equivalent of 6.80€.. For a spot in the downtown area of a capital city, I found the price reasonable! That said, I understand it may feel a bit pricey for locals given their purchasing power.

I recommend sitting inside, as the outside seating area is too noisy. Street vendors and others may approach frequently.. some to sell, or even scam. For instance, someone offered to clean my shoes (which were already clean from the dry cleaner yesterday), and though I accepted only to support the local community, he demanded 200 EP after just a couple of minutes. I declined and gave him 100 EP purely out of empathy and not for the service worth. Always ask for prices upfront before accepting any services here!

If you choose to sit outside, be prepared for loud traffic noise. Motorcycles and cars honk constantly with or without reason, which became overwhelming after 20 minutes (I literally had headache). I'm used to quiet environments, so this was a bit much for me..

I ordered a croissant and a caramel macchiato, which is clearly listed as a separate item on your menu, priced at 69 EGP. However, when the bill was issued, I noticed I had been charged for a regular macchiato at 70 EGP, in addition to an extra 36 EGP for “caramel flavour.”

I clarified that I had not ordered a regular macchiato with an added flavour, but rather the caramel macchiato as listed on the menu. After some discussion, the charge for the added caramel was removed, but the item remained billed as a regular macchiato at 70 EGP, without adjusting the price to reflect the actual cost of the caramel macchiato

This resulted in me being overcharged, as the billed amount did not reflect the correct item nor the original menu price, including applicable service charges and taxes.

I paid the bill out of courtesy and to avoid further inconvenience, but I believe this reflects poor billing accuracy and misrepresentation of menu items. I respectfully request that this issue be addressed and that necessary measures be taken to prevent similar situations...

My friends and I walked past this restaurant hungry and decided to go in as we saw they served pasta. We proceeded to order, in which we waited 45 minutes for below average pasta which had little to no seasonings. When we received our meals we did not have any cutlery on our table at the time which we had to tell 3 employees and wait an additional 10 minute before we were able to actually eat our meals. Customer service was horrible, didn’t ask how our food was or offer more drinks. We also asked for the bill where an additional 30% tax was added, we asked to pay with eftpos and the female employee rolled her eyes and waited an additional 15 minutes for an employee to bring over an eftpos machine. As we arrived they also placed water bottles on our table which we thought was complementary as a lot of other restaurants we visited in the area provided it, and we payed a higher than average price for water bottles.
