I have to report an incident that happened with me with Miramar Downtown in Cairo. I initially booked with another hotel under their management call Miramar Talaat Harb when i called them to confirm my stay with them and they told me that they are fully booked and they forwarded me to another hotel under their management which is Miramar downtown. While i was on the way to the new hotel they i called them and they said that they have my booking confirmed after the original booked hotel have transferred my booking to them. When I arrived after 2 hours to the new hotel they kept me waiting for 45 minutes without an answer. And when I insisted to get an answer they said that they don’t have a room and they wanted to transfer me to a third hotel.|I told them that I don’t accept their third suggestion as it’s not suitable nor convenient to me. After I left to find another hotel I received a message stating that there is an issue with my credit card ( this booking should be canceled by the property itself not throwing the mistake on the guests credit cards)|This is the worst hotel experience ever. |And by the way through the reviews of other guests i found that this is a repeated issue. I would advise Booking.com to look into this issue and to take a serious action specially it is a repeated incident.|I mean how on earth would you book something that is confirmed and when you call the hotel they will confirm your booking and when you arrive after 2 hours only they will say we don’t...
Read moreJust spent 4 nights there and was not impressed with the hotel.|1. I booked a compact room and the room is just big enough for a single bed and a bag. You had to squeeze between Bathroom door and sink as it could not be opened all the way as it hit the shower nozzle, also water flows into room if the drain is covered. I was not informed I had to turn on water heater, luckily I have come across like heaters in the past. Room did not have any towels or bath mat, so I had to chase these up. TV satellite connection did not work. You have to ask them to clean the room everyday and still need to chase up toilet paper shampoo. Wi-Fi is sus. Aircon works well. The 2 compact rooms are located near reception desk and are noisy with staff talking etc. Bfast is at 9am , and is some basic cheese , bread and coffee. Luckily nice cafe and Mackas close by .|2. Hotel confirmed airport pickup for $15 US 6 odd months ago, when asked for payment the price went up to $25 and was informed increase was due to petrol, well bad luck to them as I am only paying $15 as they should have advised me when I confirmed my flight details a few days before. Note Uber from airport was only $8-10 . Also I had a car/driver booked for a day for $30, when confirming the day before the price was now $50, so I politely told them to shove it.|3. Location is 100 mtrs from Tahir square with the metro stn. |4.I got a SIM card at the airport whilst waiting for the bags to come, and used this a...
Read moreBooked for three nights but took one look at the room and we went somewhere else. The 'hotel' is not that easy to find as it is up a small alley and then you need to walk up a flight of stairs. That would have been fine, however the room was very small with a small window that looked onto the wall of the building next door. The curtain was ripped and coming of its runner. There wasn't any room to put a bag let alone a suitcase and there were two of us.The 'bathroom' was the size of a broom cupboard. There was absolutely no resemblance to what I had booked according to its description online. I had booked a room with a 'balcony and city view, television, fridge and tea and coffee making facilities' - none of these were evident. Luckily we had an amazing driver who drove us around to look for somewhere else. He described it as a 'Backpackers'. We ended up staying somewhere very expensive but the location was amazing. Walking distance to the Museum etc. An expensive mistake from false advertising. Better to spend a bit extra (but not as much as we did) if you are past 'backpacking' to make sure you get somewhere comfortable. Luckily we weren't charged because the man at the 'desk' told our driver that if I leave he has a person waiting on the room. The location is good but there are other places on the other side of the Nile that is still walking distance...
