We found Ahmed at the airport upon arrival. Having done a bit of research, we decided to take up his offer for an air con car with a guide for the pyramids although we were staying in Giza, right opposite the pyramids. That was a god sent as although the distances are not huge, the heat is oppressive. It was also very smooth sailing to find an excellent camel tour, arranged by the guide - a must do - if you enjoy great pictures. The camel guide was amazing & a born photographer. Worth every extra tip he received! Ahmed was very helpful literally arranging this all last minute and despite my haggling ;))…our main guide spoke mediocre English but frankly we learned most of the history via websites and he did show us around to the really interesting parts we would have missed. My only criticism was his lack of photography skills - so our sphinx kissing pictures are way off 😂 but he was a kind & thoughtful guide who was a joy to be with. He of course- in good Egyptian fashion - took us to a really good restaurant which was on the surface like a high end cantine but with excellent quality & fresh food and took a bit of an extra “tip” by insisting he had to pay for it. I grumbled slightly but if you’re prepared for it just consider it as part of the overall tip. He went out of his way to secure a special type of tea my daughter wanted. Please stay away from this tour agency at all costs. They overcharged us first of all. Second, they made us wait for an hour in the airport. Then they made us get in a car. The driver drove us to some other guy's house. Over there, they made us switch cars into the other random guy's vehicle. After that, the driver went into a bar to allegedly use the restroom. Then when he finally came into the car, this other driver drove us to his friends business where they tried to convince us that the only way to get to the pyramids is by camel. They disrespected my mother and father there. We eventually let those 2 goons know that we weren't playing around and were not gonna fall for their scam. After all those hours, then he drove us to the pyramids, the bazaar, and back to airport. Very bad experience. Also, when he took us to the random camel place, the driver almost drove away with the car that had all our luggage.

Note: The people working at the agency counter in the airport will try to be overly friendly and kind. They will make you think that you are getting a good deal so please do not fall for this. I wish putting 0 stars was an...

August 30th: My visit to Cairo, Egypt for the first time as a solo traveler was an adventure! I booked private tours with Ahmed in Cairo Airport. Ahmed was professional, well groomed, knowledgeable, and provided great service. I encountered some behavioral issues with the initial driver and reached out to Ahmed. He quickly responded and resolved the issue to allow me to have a pleasant experience. My second driver, whose name is also Ahmed R was awesome! He arrived to my hotel on time to pick me up. He was well mannered, groomed, and represented the company well. What was exceptional about this driver is that he was considerate of the language barrier and use google translator to communicate with me. 💕. I highly recommend Ahmed for a driver and I hope to return to Cairo in the near future. Thank you for keeping me safe and amazing experience 🙏.
