Staying at the Hilton Cairo Grand Nile was truly a memorable experience that blended comfort, luxury, and the breathtaking beauty of the Nile River. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and professional service that set the tone for the entire stay. This hotel isn’t just a place to sleep — it’s a destination in itself.
Let’s start with the location: the hotel is situated right on the banks of the Nile in the heart of Cairo. The views from our balcony were absolutely stunning — especially at sunrise and sunset when the light hits the river just right and the city starts to glow. Watching feluccas drift by while sipping coffee in the morning was such a peaceful way to start the day, especially in a city as vibrant and busy as Cairo.
The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. We stayed in a Nile-view room, and I highly recommend upgrading if you can — it’s worth every penny. The bed was incredibly comfortable with plush pillows, and the bathroom was modern and fully stocked with amenities. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless and was always respectful of our schedule.
One of the standout features of Hilton Cairo Grand Nile is the variety of dining options. We had breakfast at La Gourmandise, and it was amazing — a massive buffet with both local Egyptian specialties and international favorites. Fresh juices, pastries, eggs made to order, and more. For dinner, Baba Shah offered a rich Lebanese menu with delicious grilled meats, while Nubian Village served authentic Egyptian dishes in an outdoor setting by the Nile — definitely a must-try for the ambiance alone. Windows on the World, the revolving restaurant, is another unique feature — dining while enjoying a 360-degree view of Cairo is something you don’t get every day.
The hotel also offers a range of amenities that made our stay even more relaxing. The outdoor pool area is beautifully maintained and offers a great spot to cool off from the Cairo heat. There’s also a spa and fitness center, which we used once and found to be modern and well-equipped.
Service throughout the hotel was excellent. Staff members were attentive, polite, and always ready to help with a smile. Whether it was asking for directions, arranging transportation, or simply needing extra towels, everything was handled quickly and professionally. We especially appreciated the concierge, who gave us great advice on local attractions and helped us arrange a private tour of the Pyramids and the Egyptian Museum.
Safety and cleanliness are clearly a priority at the Hilton. We felt secure at all times, and the hotel staff were attentive to hygiene, especially in the public areas. The lobby itself is grand and elegant — a beautiful space to relax or meet with friends, with a great little café for coffee or sweets.
What makes this hotel even more special is how it manages to feel both modern and authentically Egyptian. It captures the charm of old Cairo with the comfort and standards of a top-tier international hotel. Whether you’re in town for business or on vacation, the Hilton Grand Nile offers the kind of experience that lets you truly enjoy the best of both worlds.
My only advice: give yourself enough time to enjoy the property itself. With so many attractions nearby — like the Cairo Opera House, the Egyptian Museum, and of course the Pyramids just a short drive away — it’s easy to fill your days. But taking time to relax by the Nile, enjoy the spa, or simply have dinner with a view is what makes staying here so worth it.
In summary, Hilton Cairo Grand Nile isn’t just about convenience or location — it’s about experience. The Nile view, the exceptional service, the food, the comfort, and the little moments of luxury all come together to create a stay that feels both relaxing and exciting. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend it to anyone...

It’s rated as a five-star hotel, but in reality, the only thing five-star about it is the price – which feels more like ten stars.
Unfortunately, that’s the reality. Today, we checked out in the morning. There are several points I must mention to warn others who might hope to stay in a five-star hotel, only to be shocked by a reality that doesn’t even reach two stars.
The first room we were given at 10:00 PM – we went up tired, only to find the furniture extremely old, the bathroom smelled disgusting, and the carpet had a terrible odor. We don’t even know how we managed to sleep until morning. We called reception and showed them how bad the room was, especially the smell. They apologized and gave us another room on the 32nd floor – and we had to carry all of our luggage ourselves to the new floor.
The new room was slightly better, but the furniture (chairs, tables, bed – everything in the entire hotel) was extremely old. I’m certain it’s been there for decades.
We stayed until the end of our vacation. Room service sometimes gave us incomplete towels, and they often had an unpleasant smell.
There are two specific incidents related to money that I’d call outright scams driven by unjustified greed:
First incident: In the hotel lobby, there’s a café. We ordered four bowls of ice cream, each with three scoops – a total of 12 scoops. When we got the bill, it was 1,685.38 EGP – the equivalent of $36. I asked them how much a single bowl with three scoops costs, and they said 145 EGP. I told them the math doesn’t add up and that the bill must be wrong. They insisted it was correct and just walked away.
Second and worst incident: At checkout (keep in mind I had already prepaid 72,500 EGP for a 7-night stay), the front desk told me I had to pay 2,100 EGP more. I asked why. They said it was on the bill. I replied that we always pay immediately for anything we take. They claimed it was for a bottle of water, a Snickers bar, a KitKat, and a small juice that were inside the room’s minibar.
It’s truly shocking to be charged for a bottle of water at a hotel of this name. Even more outrageous – to be charged $45 for three small items that wouldn’t cost more than $5 in a shop next to the hotel. And what’s worse is that these items were placed in the room without our request – and yet they were added to the bill!
What can you call this other than scam, fraud, and a complete lack of respect for the customer, the hotel, and its reputation?
It was a horrible experience that I will never repeat. And after this, I will never go near any Hilton hotel anywhere...

The buffet was nothing short of a disaster—poorly stocked, chaotic, and offering food of shockingly low quality. There was no organization, and staff were either absent or completely indifferent. Getting any assistance was nearly impossible, as no one seemed to care about the guests’ needs.
The management was a joke. Instead of overseeing operations and ensuring a smooth service, the managers were too busy chatting among themselves while their staff stood around aimlessly. There was zero leadership, no structure, and an overwhelming sense of disorganization.
To make matters worse, we were moved tables twice during dinner, without any valid reason, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying guests. But the most unbelievable part? I was asked to carry my own plates from one floor to another, passing through the reception like I was at a cafeteria instead of a so-called five-star hotel.
As someone who has stayed in countless luxury hotels around the world, I can confidently say that this was one of the most unprofessional and poorly run properties I have ever encountered. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you expect even the bare...
