WOW!! An amazing experience that I would love to repeat. You can’t come Egypt without experiencing this little gem. Tickets are not expensive and it is worth so much more I don’t mind saying. Prince Mohamed Ali Manial Palace is a beautiful palace. The architecture, the rich history and beauty of it all is awe inspiring. The palace offers a free guide after the purchase of the tickets and it’s well worth it. We got a lovey young girl called Alaa. An amazing, friendly and knowledgeable girl who knows her history and the history of the palace and the Prince. She made the experience all the more worth it and I’m glad we took them up on the offer. The tour went at our pace and I could have spent the whole day there after the tour just exploring everything even more and taking more pictures. I can’t describe the beauty of the walls and ceiling and tiles. The Prince was a religious man and was very knowledgeable in the Holy Quran. In each room of the palace he has Quranic verses inscribed in and around the palace walls in beautifully decorated and colourful tiles. The Prince was an avid art collector and ahead of his time in so many aspects and the love of the Arts and horses is clear to see. The grounds consists of five buildings- The reception palace, The clock tower, The Mosque, The Residence Palace and the Thrown Hall. There’s also a small animal museum. Each and every room is unique with a unique ceiling and doors. A lot of thought and dedication was put into the rooms. Go visit!!

Nice place to spend a couple of hours. Unfortunately, most areas were closed when we visited in May, and the ticket office did not warn us. There were blocks everywhere in the garden restricting access. As well as the usual exhibits of the second and third floor of the palace were closed (no reasons were given). The toilet in the garden was locked. Hunting museum had an attendant who was just reading some of the obvious signs or pointing at very obvious exhibits by saying what it is (for example: crocodile, camel, snake). Despite all signs having English translation the attendants in each room were aiming at tips and trying to read signs for us, following us around. I noticed the locals did not get such attention. This is a bit disappointing because these kind of museums and palaces are sometimes an attempt to avoid such unwanted attention and actually get some quiet and peace at your own pace. Parking was easy on a Saturday morning. We parked right in front of the palace on the side of the road and tipped the parking assistant.

Amazing Palace that lays on a branch of the Nile. You enter the facility and are greeted by a beautiful and grandios gate . Up on this gate you can see an Egyptian Mashrabiya that dates to the 19th/early 20thcentury. You grab your tickets and are ready to visit the 5 sections of the museum. First you go to the Iqama Palace , where the prince lived , and which is furnished and adorned with gold . There is also the throne hall, which presents all the pashas and mamluks of Egypt starting from Mohamed Ali Pasha to the latest Khedive Abbas II. There is also the clock tower and the Mosque which was interestingly always open for the public to attend the call to prayer on Fridays and special events . Finally , the museum also has a hunting lodge section where the mummified hunts of the prince are presented with information on their species ,etc. I really enjoyed my visit and find this museum really worthwhile. One must visit this museum at least once in his lifetime!

It is some sort of a hidden gem as being not that well known to everybody. It has a very cheap ticket and comprises several sections and buildings constructed and designed by the prince's own vision. The decoration elegance and the stories underlying the prince's intentions for building this palace and his decoration choices are all quite impressive. There are different parts, one room for special guests, the bedrooms, the dining room, the ladies seating room, hunting museum, the outdoor gardens..etc. Finally, it is quite hard to go with a private car due to the congestion and parking unavailability, so a taxi is much easier. Very impressive place. The ticket fee is 5 le for Egyptians. The place is easy to reach. The garden there reminded me of Aswan botanical garden. I was impressed mainly by the great details of the ceiling of most of the buildings there. The only concern was the car parking, there was no parking so it is better to visit it without car.

A palace imbued with history and beautiful craftsmanship of yore. Spend at least 2 hours here, and try to really reflect and take it all in. Look up at the ceilings! It really is a masterpiece. Each room has a different ornamental style, each so interesting. The palace is relatively well-maintained with some areas closed for repairs. The private collections Museum is mostly empty. The taxidermy Museum is fun to see. The gardens are sadly closed off to visitors. Be sure to visit on a cool day, as there is lots of walking and it's quite warm and humid throughout the entire property (even indoors). The tour guides are young students, and I'd have appreciated more knowledge about the subject matter, beyond the superficial facts. Some of the signage is informative, but others aren't as interesting with many grammatical errors.

This place is amazing to anyone who is interested in both architecture and history. The palace, furnishings, and Prince's collections were given to the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities in 1955. The Manial Palace and estate are a public art and history museum, with historical gardens, and forested nature park. There is also Hunting Lodge Museum, that belonged to the late King Farouk. The residence compound, composed of five separate and distinctively styled buildings, is surrounded by Persian gardens within an extensive English Landscape garden estate park, along a small branch of the Nile. Tips: 1- Enternace ticket fees are paid by debit/credit cards only (Cash is not acceptable). 2- You will struggle a little bit to park your car.
