This is a hostel, not a hotel.. not even one star hotel! It is number of rooms on the fifth floor have not been fully equipped. They offered me a room with no AC or TV and they hardly allowed me to move to another room with AC but no TV. The bathroom is narrow less than one meter square and the water drainage is bad! Be careful When you take a shower, it's like you're standing in a minefield! If you escape from slipping, you will not escape from colliding with what is around you. The ceiling of the room is horrible and dilapidated, and you are afraid that it will fall on you. The kitchen where the breakfast is prepared is littered with rubbish bags and not clean. the food stuffed in drawers in an unsanitary way. There are no phones in the rooms! so how is there room service as they mentioned ? funny indeed! The lady who cleans rooms she is the one who cooks and prepares food! Breakfast is only one egg, 30 grams of jam, 30 grams of cheese, yogurt a piece of toast and a cup of tea! You have to pay money to get a cup of coffee! The dining hall is untidy, cigarette stumps are everywhere, and the smell is bad. The hotel management is unprofessional at all, they forced me impolite way to pay in cash, no credit...
Read moreI made a reservation here when another reservation fell through at the last minute. It was quite affordable but a little odd compared to other travel experiences. When we showed up late at night, the area seemed sketchy, but it actually ended up being just fine and even convenient. Our first surprise was that they only accepted cash (or at least that's what they told these Americans). We were fortunate to have enough. Overall, the interior is functional but depressing like a school dorm. Despite advertising a TV in the room, there wasn't one. I think breakfast was also supposed to be included. but I didn't immediately find it and didn't go hunting. No towels of any type were in our room and my wife had to go hunt them down. We had a wet bathroom (no separate shower), which is ok, just not preferred. The ceiling had drop tiles and one was broken in half exposing an attic-space. The mattress was wrapped in plastic. Sheets were clean but threadbare. There were plenty of places to eat close by and I actually walked to the...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for a few nights when I wanted to explore old Cairo, lovely location, close proximity to historical islamic Cairo and lots of shops nearby.
This hotel is on the fifth floor of an old derelict building , most of the floors are not maintained, abandoned and looks like it's falling apart.
The lifts are on the side of the staircase behind the staircase - I didn't know that on the first day and climbed to the fifth floor with our luggage 😅.
Hotels on the 4th and 5th floor are modern and well maintained, comfortable beds with hot n cold air-conditioning,
Breakfast available, large open area for social and food, tour guides also available and very friendly staff , eager to help.
Hospitality has been great.
The only negative is the bathroom is inconsistent, we had three rooms and my bathroom was worst laid out 😭, the shower was on top of the toilet, I had to pull the shower head out to the middle of the bathroom else it...
