Town Hotel Cairo is a great budget friendly hotel. The staff are extremely nice and accommodating. The location is great it is very close to Cairo tower, museum of Egypt and El-Tahrir square. Everything was very newly refurbished. The air conditioning was a new system which worked great. The WiFi was very strong. There was a nice partial view of the Nile. If we were in need of anything throughout the day e.g tea/coffee etc all we had to do was ask. The rooms were very spacious. We had 3 beds even though there were only 2 of us!! Many of the 5* star hotels were very nearby. We also had no issue leaving out bags on day of check out.
I will say it is at first hard to find. I would highly recommended ordering a taxi through the hotel, especially if arriving late. It is across from the Semiramis hotel, you will see a mini market/ wig company ‘Postiche’, it is around this building you will see the sign for the hotel. It is on the 8th floor. There is no cover sheet on the bed, however blankets are supplied in the wardrobe. There is no daily room service however I am sure if you were in need of anything, all you would have to do is ask. It is not the most soundproof building, however I think that you will hear the beeping of Cairo traffic no matter where you stay.
Please be mindful when booking here that you get what you pay for, but this is a great budget friendly/middle group for couple/group of friends. You are getting all the benefits of being in a 5* hotel location without...
Read moreWe were planning to spend 8 nights in Town Hotel Cairo, but after the first night this was out of the question. The streets of Tahrir square is extreme noisy 24/7, and you can’t close the windows properly. After trying to fall asleep, at 5 am the staff started to clash the dishes insanely loud, so we woke up again. Of course the discord wasn’t only the hotel’s responsibility, however the bedsheets full of hair and blooddrops was… As a european tourist it was very disgusting to sleep there. We were also promised a room with a balcony, which they didn’t even had😅 We tried to get used to all this, but the lack of sleep really got us all in our nerves. We wanted to cancel the last 4 days and get to another hotel. The manager said he wouldn’t give us any refund for the remaining 4 days because we booked the rooms via Booking.com… This was very disappointing because as a tourist booking is rather a guarantee for a good stay than a good excuse for not paying back your money. After all, we went away to stay in Villa Khufu in Giza, which was breathtaking -should have stayed there in the first place -, and booking was able to pay back two days of our stay. Despite the noisy location, the dirt and the lack of roomclean the staff was actually...
