Sabaya by the Nile — Restaurant in Cairo

The location of this restaurant is undeniably beautiful, with great views of the Nile and the Cairo Tower. I really wish the experience had matched the scenery. Unfortunately, the food, drinks, and overall service were incredibly disappointing.

It took an unreasonably long time just for someone to take our order, and an even longer wait for our drinks to arrive. When they finally did, the drinks were flavorless, especially the alcoholic ones. Our food order arrived incorrect, and what we did receive was bland and definitely overpriced for the quality.

What made things even worse was the attitude from the staff. They came across as rude and seemed annoyed that I, a foreigner, was dining with local friends. It made my friends uncomfortable and really put a damper on the evening.

This was genuinely the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. I do not recommend this restaurant at all. The view may be nice, but nothing else...

Very bad service, food was okay, portion size very low, price very expensive, nobody gave respect. At first the table heater wasn't working, they said the gas heater gas was finished. Asked me to change the table, at next table heater again didn't work. They weren't bothering to tell me the heater wasn't working. I had to ask multiple times. So I paid the bill and left. The staff were only tending the tables with drinks and shisha until my husband brought it to their attention. Very below average food. My lamb kofta was burnt (photo attached) and my husbands chicken was tasteless. The rice was so too cinnamony and greas. The appetizers were edible except the waregh aneb. My husband couldn't even eat a single one. The hummus was salty too. After they asked how our food is and we told them we were not satisfied, they tried to change it and make new ones but we said no because it would take too long. They later brought us a platter of not so fresh fruits that look like they've been outside since the morning, and two cups of minty limeades which is what the two stars are for: the offer to change the plates and...
