We had a great time. There are some fabulous things and some areas to develop/improve.||- the staff are amazing. Nothing is too much. Apart from the amusement arcade section which is not worth it and the guys are quite rude|- our daughter is coeliac. We had emailed in advance and from the 2nd day she was able to have pancakes daily. They cooked food she requested - at times hard to tell what was GF as signage was not showing correctly. |- we had a 1st birthday while there. They decorated a table and did a gluten free huge yummy cake |- the water park is great. Whistle happy life guards, but they’re constantly watching and helping with beds, umbrellas and making sure you’re enjoying everything|- never had an issue with sun beds or towels |- we had an incredible view over the lagoon and whole hotel. Down side we were right next to the new building work for Gravity Bay. This could be very loud from 7.30am unfortunately. Our cleaner was lovely and good towel art, but I wouldn’t say the room was clean to the standard we like. Some of the dust is defo from being right next to the building work. Water can run out at peak times and can go hot then cold easily. Fridge refreshed daily. Free safe. |- wifi hit and miss. Best in reception |- the entertainment on an evening- 80% was really good. (We don’t normally like it!) |- the food - repetitive for 85%, with some slight changes each night on the main meat. Prawns were great! Could do with some extra bits like dried fruit and nuts at breakfast, more cereal selection. Always hard when it’s on mass |- the gardens were great and lush |- the beach - it’s not soft sand. You need beach shoes. Walk up to the very end and you can snorkel. The water is lovely and can walk in it. Some good fish to see|- the entertainment team were lovely and very hard working |- pools - they tried to keep as clean as they could. With the wind, sun tan lotion, sand etc - that’s a constant battle to keep clean. They did well|- snack bars - fries, hot dogs, burgers, some sandwiches and pastries - fine (ice cream was ok and little doughnut balls lovely)|- drinks - standard AI drinks. They use real coke, sprint, Fanta etc. can get iced coffee, great bottles of water etc|- the spa - not of the standard I’ve had before. It was OK at best. Can use at the end of your holiday rather than extending your room for a shower. We wanted to extend but told we couldn’t which was a shame with 3 young kids. (One a baby)|- you can have a walk outside of the hotel - can get cheaper snacks etc ||FRESH SMOOTHIES - the two gents here are fab. We had a deal for 2 fresh fruit smoothies per day and they were great. The price we were happy with (did a special offer and we felt good value for money) can always bargain ||I was ill for 6 days which was not great. Then my partner got ill. Not sure of the cause but this did tinge the holiday for us. (Silver lining - I weigh less than when I came!! :) ) ||Overall we liked. The kids loved. Would we go again? We would like try somewhere else for better food/more options. |Thanks so much - some fab memories made||AGAIN the staff...
Read moreTHE WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN. Hotel staff are so rude. This hotel does not know the definition of customer service in fact you are treated as if you’re burden instead of a guest. When we first arrived, we asked for the safe to be open, after 1.5 hours of waiting and 3 calls later, we FINALLY had someone who came up but didn’t speak a word of English. The entire hotel (inside corridors and outside) smells like cigarette smoke all day long, there are no designated smoking areas, so the entire hotel is a smoking ground. I told the cleaning staff that the toilets near the pool were dirty (had pee all over the seats) and had no toilet paper, their solution was “use the other toilet on the other side of the hotel”. Food was disgusting, everything was watered down, tasteless and had an infestation of flies 24/7. We paid for an all inclusive, however all restaurants were closed during our entire stay. When we finally decided to bring food from outside into the hotel we were told we couldn’t eat it in the lobby BUT were allowed to eat it outside and had to sign a waiver in order to eat in the lobby. A number of us fell sick during our stay and my brother asked for tea, honey and lemon from reception, he was told it would be extra charge, he told reception he was happy to pay, reception said they would find out and let him know how much - didn’t bother calling back with an answer. I finally decided to ask the bar downstairs for lemon, I was told there was none. And he wasn’t about to organise any. It was just no lemons sorry (mind you there are bowls of lemon in the buffet everyday). We weren’t feeling well enough to go out and eat out of even eat in the buffet. We tried to get some food from the buffet and take it back to our room, the buffet manager chased us and told us we weren’t allowed to take any food back to our room. CHASED US and physically tried to stop us from for trying to take food back to our room to our sick partners. We were unwell in our room and told housekeeping we just wanted fresh towels as we weren’t leaving the room. He said he’ll bring us some, the towels never came we had to use dirty towels to shower for the next 2 days. Furniture, bathrooms all the rooms are all old and dirty. We requested extra blankets as there was no heating in the rooms, we received blankets that smelled of cigarette smoke or were stained with God knows what with no covers. Do not waste your money, you’re better off sleeping on...
Read moreSadly I must as always be totally honest and I have to chalk this hotel down as 1 of the places I wouldn't return to. I don't actually believe I've ever said that about anywhere I've stayed so this does sadden me quite a lot. The 3 stars are naturally for the staff because they are the backbone of Egypt as everyone who's been there knows. The hotel is at most a 3 star mainly due to the amount of things falsely advertised as there/available both on their site and at the hotel. The wifi was ridiculous & just a joke, the hotel nxt door had a better signal! But they have big signs at several locations throughout the hotel offering a wifi package for 10 euros per wk, yet when tried to get it was told "Oh that stopped yrs ago"??? We were on the 5th floor in the furthest corner away from the beach/restaurant & the amount of walking it took had me confined to my room for 2 days with huge swollen ankles. I am a massive sufferer of claustrophobia & whilst going down in lift with 2 other guests & a bellboy it stopped btwn floors & was broken for almost 15mins!! I was severely traumatised & had the biggest panic attack of my entire life, screaming/crying etc. When it was finally opened and I got out I sat in passage sobbing for 20mins & the bellboy just got out and took the guests to their room!!! No one came to help me at all. So unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel for the following reasons;
