Lagoona Restaurant — Restaurant in Red Sea

Extremely average food and exceedingly overpriced. To start the evening we arrived at 7 (opening time) and the door was closed and the place empty. We waited to see if they were setting up but the waiter was just talking to the kitchen staff. After waiting for 10 minutes I made eye contact and I smiled expecting him to then welcome us in or open the door but he didn't, just went back to talking. After that we just walked in.

When ordering the waiter couldn't make ANY of the mocktails. I wanted the iced tea based one and he said they didn't have it they only had fresh strawberry juice (which wasn't even an item on the menu).

After we ordered our meals my food took 1 hour to come out! The restaurant had 2 other tables aside from us, 1 elderly couple and one table of 3 so there was no reason why our food should've taken so long ESPECIALLY without being told there would be a long wait. After asking twice where our food was we received no apology for the delay when the food did finally arrive.

The food was extremely average. My friend had the chicken breast which was 3 tiny pieces of chicken, half a handful of chips, 2 slices of carrot, a tiny piece of cauliflower and half a green bean (see the picture below). It literally looked like a kids meal but at an adult price. It was also meant to come with a garlic cream sauce which it didn't so the meat was completely dry and bland. I ordered the shrimp curry with rice. I was served 12 tiny shrimp, a small serve of rice. It was meant to come with a side salad which it did not. For 230 EGP! ($20 AUD, $15USD). I went to a nearby seafood restaurant two nights prior and for the exact amount of shrimp (12) in a creamy sauce I paid 80 EGP ($5USD). The dish was a spicy curry and it had no spice whatsoever, entirely bland. After waiting an hour it was an absolute joke.

Conclusion: If the food was amazing the 1 hour wait wouldn't have mattered but it was well below average and the chicken was just straight up bad. I have stayed at Hilton hotels before and this was extremely disappointing given the price point (3x that of an identical restaurant nearby) of the food compared to other restaurants in the area that had nicer food and...

De bediening is snel en vriendelijk alleen niet heel consistent. Die ene tafel krijgt wel een broodmandje en de ander niet. Je kan hier binnen en buiten zitten. Dit restaurant hoort bij het Swiss Inn Resort en is all in bij je verblijf. Als je verse vis wil moet je bijbetalen. De a la carte gerechten zijn niet goed bereid. De rijst is koud voordat het bij je op de tafel komt en de garnalen zijn helaas droog en taai. De vis was wel lekker. Het dessert was klein...
