The worst hotel I've ever been to. I've never seen such a disgusting attitude towards guests in my life. Everything is pretty nice inside, beautifully furnished, but the service is terrible. It all started with the fact that the young man and I arrived early in the morning, at 5 o'clock, which we had warned in advance and assured us that we would be met, but there was no one there. We were looking for an employee to check in, and eventually we turned to people from the street, and they helped us. A guy in a hoodie came running, and at first he just wanted to take money from us, asked us to cancel the reservation (for which the money is not refunded) and pay the entire amount in cash due to the fact that they allegedly had problems with service at the hotel. Our payment and booking documents were ignored. We arrived late at night and just wanted to sleep, so the employee tried to take advantage of this moment. We argued for a long time, tried to decide, explain that we could not cancel the reservation - they did not listen to us, the main idea was "pay in cash, right now, otherwise we will not check you in, everything is working out, there is no need to argue here, the money will definitely be refunded" (false, nothing will be refunded). Then, when they refused to cancel the reservation and pay on the spot, the employee threw up his hands and we decided to wait for the manager until the morning. There was not even a hint of an apology in front of us, they say, either pay or you will not sleep that night. By the way, we had a reservation, they got everything because they prepared a room for us and even showed it for some stupid reason. We wrote to the support service of our application, through which we booked, while we were waiting for a response, the manager came and said that he had nothing to do with it at all, leave here and look for another hotel. In the process of finding out, we found out that the owner of the hotel had changed, and because of this they could not refund our money (new story). After a couple of moments, we were told that the hotel was closed (it was already on the verge, ahahah, literally all the guests were walking there in front of us). After that, we realized that we needed to call the police. There was a commotion, a lot of people gathered, and for several more hours we dealt with the problem with the policeman, the support service, and the manager, who raised his voice and accused us, the employees, the owners, and just onlookers. I would never recommend this place to anyone. We started our vacation because of these people who decided to get more money, very nervous and sleepless. Rooms are so old that the paint was white and is now yellow from all the smug Rooms are deceivingly small ( took a proper photo showing size) The room stenches of cheap deodorant (not air freshener but deodorant which is so weird) Everything is old and rusty and you only notice it when you get the room ( the bathroom is full of rust, the sheets are disgusting, the towels are dirty) There is wifi, but its always so slow Mostafa (who claims to be the owner) openly told me that the police can randomly come almost daily at any time and demand to watch the hotel cameras , which are everywhere, for absolutely no reason! You essentially have no privacy and anyone can come and watch recordings of you, whenever they want…. He later tried to backtrack and say this is common (its not - police have access to cameras if something happened not as a way to pass time)

Read moreI initially booked only a few nights at Golden Europe with the intention of moving around and experiencing different hotels/hostels in Dahab. However, the staff alone at Golden Europe were so amazing I ended up staying about two weeks. I didn’t want to leave. The location is absolutely perfect. The morning sea view from the restaurant is the best feeling and perfect place to wake up. The resident cats, Piso and Pisa are very snuggly and like to run up to you in the morning. The service is outstanding and the included breakfast is the best way to start the morning and has lots of variety. Ahmed at reception (both of them) are incredible and I didn’t want to say goodbye to them. The restaurant staff Mahmoud and Ahmed do an outstanding job and I looked forward to seeing them each morning. The cleaner (Mohamed I believe his name was) was lovely and really goes the extra mile.
