Seaweed sushi bar — Restaurant in South Sinai

For someone who was last in Dahab in 1999 before moving few months ago, the very idea of having Sushi around seems mind-blowing. Simply because there was no actual “cuisine” back then. Fortunately for Sushi-lovers, Seaweed Sushi Bar Dahab came to being — with a sister restaurant in Sharm El Sheikh. Not just normal or average Sushi, mind you, but as appealing and appetising as it could get.

The food is always fresh while the taste is always delicious as the presentation delightful. The service is top-notch; particularly the cheerful waiters Mina and Aly who are both happy to go above and beyond in making sure you enjoy the delectable, flavoursome experience. Prices remain reasonable.

Already in a stellar location by the Lighthouse, the place has recently been remodelled, adding more space inside as well as outside. The menu has equally been revamped. One can either eat there, enjoying the chill vibe; maybe also get a tea before the meal from the right next-door Coffee & Cotton — or a chocolate brownie afterwards. Or, place the order by phone then pick it up 15-20 minutes later as I sometimes do.

I am grateful to have met the owner Karim through some friends on my first few days of moving to Dahab.

During the past year i have witnessed the decline of sushi restaurants all over Egypt to the point where they’ve become inedible, which is why i’m ecstatic to report that the sushi in Seaweed Sushi Bar is by far the best Sushi i have ever had in Egypt.

The staff is extremely attentive and professional, we ordered the 72 piece combo and it took less than 15 minutes for our order to arrive, everything was delicious and FRESH.

We ordered the check and they accepted credit card payment; which is rare in Dahab. And we only paid 1,135 EGP which is even more amazing.

We tried to order a lemon mint juice but unfortunately the blender wasn’t working, but that didn’t take away from the amazing experience.

I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to all the sushi lovers. And if you’ve never had sushi before I recommend this restaurant to you even more to...

Terrible place, we arrived at the place at 18:30 and only after 20 minutes approached us to take the order. Not to mention how long it took them to get the food 🤦🏻‍♀️ After an hour and 20 minutes and also after several times we tried to figure out when we would get. Finally after we got the food was shocking to say the least. Cold and cooked mussels a few hours before and made far beyond the desired degree. The shrimp was also floury and cooked beyond learning. Sea crab is not really sea crab since it is engineered and manufactured in a factory it has nothing to do with the sea at all😳 The salmon we got was smoked salmon and cheese was added 😨 (where in Japan do you eat smoked salmon with cream) What happens to you you by the sea everything should be local and fresh fish. Really not...
