I stayed at the Lido for 5 nights in January 2023. It turned out to be a nightmare stay, where I felt many of my needs as a customer was not taken care of. I checked in early hours on a Monday. Whilst checking in I found out that the wifi only works in certain areas of the hotel and not in the room itself. While entering the room, they brought food for us-which was quite pleasant. We found that the A/C wasn't working well and we struggled for the next few nights due to the stuffiness in the room. When asked about the A/C, I was told that this was all that they could do, but the day after I was told that the A/C had been turned off for those rooms, as it was wintertime. Coming from a country that has -3 degree weather, this was quite annoying. However, after explaining this to the staff, they changed our room to one where the A/C worked. On a positive note, the cleanliness inside the hotel was amazing. The cleaning process which is undertaken by the cleaners are spot-on and cannot be faulted.
Breakfast and Dinner were very average. Not a lot to choose from and wasn't the best. If i knew this was the case, I would have not picked a package that included dinner.
We opted to go to St Catherine's Monastery with the tour guide at the hotel. His name was Mahmoud Falcon. He is an absolute scammer! The monastery was closed on the day we went, which was a huge disappointment as we had just traveled 3 hours to get there. Nevertheless, we carried on with our trip. While we were in the car, the tour guide was explaining a few things. He was smoking sat inside the car and blowing smoke towards us while speaking. Which was extremely annoying. The next stop was Dahab, they had asked us if we would like to eat there, and we said yes. They said it would cost us 60 US dollars for the three of us. We didn't realize or think too much about it until we got there. We looked at the restaurant menu to find that what we had ordered was only 200 Egyptian pounds for each person(£5 per person), but were being charged nearly £50. My daughter asked why this was the case, they said that the hotel had a tie-up with this place and hence the reason for this price. We decided to not eat there and requested to be taken back to our hotel. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we asked the staff at the hotel- who were shocked themselves about the price they had charged us and denied they had anything to do with this and also denied this fully. They informed us that Falcon was in charge of this. We had paid 50 pounds for this trip, which seemed like a total waste as we ended up not even seeing half of what we had paid for. As tour guides, this should have been checked and confirmed before we had gone there. Our tour guide was not very knowledgeable and didn't know all the details for everything either. He will offer you the highest price for his trips that are not even worth that much, it's all about negotiating everything. Falcon also took us to the markets, where he took us to shops with the most expensive items, when we refused to pay, he asked us how much we would be willing to pay. Magically in the next shop, the price would've gone down to that price. I strongly recommend that you book these trips before you come here or definitely not book through this travel agent in the hotel, as it is 100% not worth it. They blame the hotel for these extortionate prices, while the hotel are...
Read moreEverything was wonderful except for two things. The first is what the receptionist claims, Mr. Mustafa Al-Qadi, that he is a sharp, frown man who does not smile. He also treats all visitors with extreme arrogance and has a rough style with everyone, even with those who work with him, and when I asked to change the room service worker for his bad style and lack of Taking care of his work, he would not have wanted to do anything, had I not insisted on raising the complaint to the general manager of the hotel, Mr. Muhammad Al-Shimi. He responded to my request and called the room service manager, and therefore I think that it is not suitable at all in this place. The second thing is that there are a few hotel workers who are not fit to work in the field of tourism at all, like Muhammad, the room service worker i think he responsible for rooms from 207 to 217. He is a very bad and very exploitative person, so beware of him well. He wants money for whatever he does except that he offered to sell me drugs and he told me verbatim if you want any kind of drug will be available, I think such a person would have his main place on street corners or prison. Other that, everything was great The view, the sea, food and drinks, and I will not forget the animation team, headed by Mr. Chico. He made us very happy with his wonderful parties, his loving style and his beautiful smile, and he worked on the comfort of all the guests. Also, the hotel general manager, Mr. Mohamed El-Shimy, is a generous, loving, and very strict towards complaints and always present in all corners of the hotel, working on the comfort of the guests and to provide assistance...

When i arrived they told me to pay 1750 euros extra charge because for them we were 3 adults ? ??? Since when 12 & 14 years is adult ? Anyway i didn't want to pay and they kick me out the hotel after 4 nights asking me to pay an extra for the 4 nights of 450 euros....I had already paid the right price on my voucher for 14 nights. As i didn't want to pay they refused to let me leave. I told them to call the police. The police gave me right and I didn't pay any extra. And they told to the hotel to make me a paper that I stayed only 4 nights instead of 14 i already paid to get back the balance from the agency. Now they don't want to refund the balance. They are really big stoller and the manager is such bad person as he kick me out with my 2 daughters because I didn't accept to pay extra for adult as 12 & 14 is not adults.
